I am having a clothing problem that I had thought was fixed earlier. My female adult will not plan or change into everyday clothing. I used GameHelp (clean installer, SimPe, Force Error, deleted Sim, deleted custom content, etc...) and had some good advice. It worked temporarily but now is back to the same problem. I haven't changed anything in the game or added any custom content. I'm beginning to think my next option is moving out.

Any other suggestions??

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
  • General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problemwiki FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Contentwiki FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

I have done everything in the GameHelp. I did it in the first post I threaded. It worked temporarily and my post was labeled fixed. Then right after that post it messed up again.

you didn't add back in any CC before it broke again? is it one specific sim or just all adult female sims in your game?

I didn't add anything. I haven't closed the game since I fixed the problem the first time. It is affecting all female adult sims.

So I take it that you have exhausted the FAQ and have reinstalled? That is that last final drastic step.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

Can you please test another hood to see if this is happening there, or if it's just contained to one hood. Also, does it occur if you backup and remove all hacks, mods and custom content?

Yeah, have you tried running the game basically without the downloads folder in my documents? Like just cut and paste to the desktop (or does re-nameing it to something weird keep the game from 'finding' it?) If that doesn't work, have you tried removing all your hoods, savedsims, projects, etc? I think that might be called running it clean, but I don't know. I've had wonky things happen with adult female clothing before, and it was just a simple mod conflict, so removing every single mod fixed it right away.

Very strange. I removed my downloads and the dresser seems to work but all of my Sims are "frozen." They won't move or do anything I instruct them to do.

Then you didn't read/try everything in the FAQ part, because if I remember right, mod conflicts is one of the basic/first things that it has you check for. That's where I got the idea when my stuff started acting wonky, I also did a google search. Have you tried removing your hood folder and playing a house in one of the hoods that came with the game (in the state it was in before you entered it for the first time, see FAQ section)?

edit: also, you shouldn't double post. *points to edit button*

Crazy silly and random.

Yes, please complete the article- this will tell us if the problem exists in clean hoods with no CC as well.

It must the coat rack hack that I use. I've used it for a while with no problems, but now it's just not working in any of my houses. I will try that one. I'm really trying to not reinstall all my games again. Hopefully I won't have to do that.

No need to reinstall if the game works without your CC. You can narrow down the culprit by following this:
