I searched for an answer for this but have come up blank. I recently built a community lot. It is four stories and instead of stairs I used an elevator. I made sure there is nothing blocking the elevator doors on each floor and every door opening is facing the same direction (though I read somewhere that doesn't matter) but for some reason the sim I play on the lot will not use the elevator. Other uncontrollable sims will use the elevator perfectly fine but my sim refuses to go to different floors. I have tried clicking on the elevator on each floor and choosing the "Go to this floor" option. I have tried getting him to use objects on different floors and I have tried the "go here" option on a floor that he is not currently on. Nothing has worked. Anyone know what this could be about? Silly sim.

you will need to instruct your sims to use the elevater

If other sims use the elevator, it's possible that your sim is glitched. Try forcing an error on the affected sim. If the problem persists, also backup and test with custom content removed.
