Hello there! This is my very first creation, and I would like to upload it to this site. Of course, I have followed the advice & am asking for any imput from experienced & non-experienced creators for input. Remember this is my *first* one, so it's probably pretty bleh, but I'm looking forward to your comments to help me improve!! Thanks!

There's the pictures
Let me know if you want to see a specific part of the home zoomed in, and I'd be happy to post it! :D

Wow, that's your first house? Very nice for a first creation, and heck, nice in general.

A few things though:

You probably will want to playtest this house because it looks like several things are not going to be useable. Specifically, the things placed at 45 degree angles (the living room sofa, swingset, lounge chair, dollhouse) may not be usable, and the shower in the master bathroom may be blocked by the toilet.

The different wood floors in the main areas of the house seem a little clashy to me. I'd pick one or the other.

Perhaps replace the sofa in the master bedroom with a wardrobe and a smaller chair - if you had room for both sofa and wardrobe, that would look better, but you probably don't have room for both. It could also use a bedside table too.

Maybe use a small stepover type fence around the stone path in the back - it looks just a tad bit unfinished, and possibly extend the path so it's under those lounge chairs too. Might also do a little more with terrain paints in the front - the plain grass looks, well, plain - a few patches of greener grass and/or worn-out areas would add just a bit more interest.

Overall, -very- nice job for a first house.

I agree with HP, great first house. The shower in the master bedroom definitely looks like the toilet's blocking it (I've done that before!). Also agree about the wood floors. I can't see a bookshelf, do you plan on including one? Could we see some shots of the walls to get a sense of the colour scheme? Also, how much does it cost?

I don't do houses on MTS2, so my advice may not be the best, but hope this helps.

Also I believe that the 3 hedges from the left of the garage won't be accessible to a gardener or a sim for pruning. And is this a Base Game only lot or do you have other EPs available?

If you have Pets you may want to consider using a different roof for the porch and lowering the angle to 15 to make it look more like a porch. If not then consider using floor tiles of a similar value to the roof to "faux" a porch. It would make the dormers more noticeable and not seem so "bunched up".

And lastly, and this is purely aesthetic, you may want to consider removing the dormer on the L side and replacing the hipped roof over the garage with a gabled roof. It would add a bit more interest to the house overall.

Regardless, as HP said, great first creation!

As the others have said, very nice house! Yes, the shower in the master bath is going to be unusable. Switch the two and it should be usable. Might I suggest altering the little patio in the backyard so it's a straight path (put a small fence at a diagonal from the door to where ever you choose to end it) and not squares? A few other questions: What EP/SPs does it need? Are the edges of the lot flat? Does the driveway work? (As in, is the lot wide enough that you didn't use moveobjects to place it?) Test anything you used moveobjects, snapobjectstogrid and the 45 degree angle cheat for, fix said issues, and you should be ready to go.

You did a great job. I like this house but have 2 suggestions.
The dormers might look better if they were both the same size and same window. Also the one on the right looks blocked. Is it possible to center the dining room table and have 4 chairs?

I do have a bookshelf in the study.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
As for some more closeup pictures...

{ I will change the wood to prevent the clashing of the 2 different wood floors }

Any other closeups you so desire to view, just let me know.

Sorry, but I'm not really understanding, haha. Like I said, I'm new to building homes, and am a little lost. But I don't have Pets, so that won't be a problem.

I'm not for sure what EPs are needed, but I believe I used Nightlife & Seasons. I add & uninstall EPs all the time, and can't keep track. I will figure out for sure though.

With the angle it to 15 thing you have to use a cheat. Get rid of the roof above the porch and type in
'individualroofslopeangle 15'
And then re-do it.

Looks really nice from the outside
Perhaps use 'moveobjects on' and move the trash around to the back of the house and line the letterbox up?
Goodluck!

So, I edited a couple of things, including the front. I added a small white step-over fence around the plants, and edited the front wallpaper. Yes to the stone, or no?

I can't decide if it looks better with the stone or just the plain stucco on all levels.

Wow, I love it! Besides the other things mentioned, I think you should add some different grass here and there on the landscape with the terrain tool. Just some different splotches (?) here and there to give it a more unique look.

Hm, I think I like it better with the stone. Try making the entire 'indent' of the garage stone and seeing how that looks, rather than just the roof.

I agree, the whole porch indent needs to be stone, it looks good as an accent to the stucco. Also switch to the plain stucco, the Quoining isn't necessary with the stone accent. Very nice house overall, a bit small, but it looks quite playable! What is the price so far?

I will definitely try those things out.
And for the price - I believe around 70,000

The house looks great. Attractive layout and landscaping. The hedges and shrubs in front look really nice but I agree that the hedges won't be able to be trimmed.

With a price of 70,000 for a house this size I probably wouldn't download it. It looks like a 3x3 lot but doesn't look like it has much space for extras like a garden, pool or fishpond. I consider a house this size to be a starter, but the price isn't. If I did download it the first thing I would do would be go in and strip all the furniture. If a house isn't a starter furniture isn't needed since they can move their furniture from their old home if they have the backpacks. Even before backpacks my sims would not have been able to afford the most expensive furniture by the time they needed to move to a larger place. So I would recommend offering it unfurnished but show pics furnished so downloaders can see what the rooms are intended to be.
