Hi!

I need you help. My question isn't about creating objects FOR TS2, but modeling them ITSELF. Well, I want to know how to, by normal retangular objects, make arches, like in this picture:

Look, what should I do to make a simple retangular to become a perfect arch?

And how to make two objects join perfectly with an angle of 45 degrees betwen them?, like this:

Please, help me as soon as possible.

Thanks!

That arch looks like it's a cylinder (or could be made from a cylinder) that's been shaped to form it into an arc. A cylinder with, say, 8 slices and 8 stacks would make that half-arch that you see there - you'd squish it to make it more flat, and then just pull the stacks down into that arc shape.

The mitered join on that window (?) frame can be done either by using the "snap together" function native to Milkshape, or Vertex Data Merge: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=227858 ... which works like snap together, only one vertex stays put and the other one snaps to it, rather than them both moving toward each other.

Thanks a lot, but how I do an arch using my own retangular?

I'm assuming you mean a cube? You wouldn't want to use a cube to make an arch like that, since in Milkshape you do not have the option of editing the number of sections each side has on that shape. Instead, use a cylinder and modify it similar to how I said - squash it flat along its width, and bend it along its length.

But I have to make an arch with a different object (with several faces, it's not just a cube, it's a blend of shapes, understand?) to continue the rest of the window with the same design of the frame.

Yes, but you'd still use a cylinder for the actual arch - meshing usually consists of combining shapes together. For something like you're showing, you'd use multiple cylinders and a cube for the ledge area.

As a hint, you can make the cylinder in whatever size is convenient, squash it into the form of the arch (using scale), and then place it in your rectangular frame and use scale to get it to the right size. Then snap and weld the places where it touches.

That is essentially what artists do even with high-end programs to make things. Snap and weld simple primitives together.
