I am lacking in the custom content area and it would be AMAZING if someone could give me a list of sites with great hair, clothes, etc.

There is a huge list of custom content at the Sims 2 wiki. Wiki

Edit: Damn, I was beaten by cavilez, lol
Oh, and the best hairs are at Rosesims and Raonsims, just search them into google. The best ones are pay and donation which you can get at the Booty for free!
