Loving this new 'dig for treasure' option however, I've more rocks, bones and trinkets than I know what to do with- one rock garden on a property looks great- 8 is an overkill!

Has anyone tried to sell the items they've dug up with OFB??? Is it possible to sell these rocks, bones and trinkets to lighten my load and make a few bucks?? Anyone try it yet??

(Sorry if this should be in OFB threads instead. Wasnt sure which topic to put this under!)

I just sell them from the inverntory. Gives you the default amount of money, but at least you can get rid of the horrible stuff.

Never thought to try that. Had my simmie giving rocks away to all her friends! And people complain when 'all they got was this lousy T-shirt' from someone else's vacation. Now imagine your friend brings you home a rock! LOL!

Think I may try to add some of those things to a store and sell them as this sim has a floral store already. I had just wondered if anyone had actually tried to market things like rocks in their stores... (You know like 'pet rocks' from the 70s...if you remember them! or am I really dating myself with that! LOL!)

Did you know that dogs can chew on the bones you dig up? Of course, it's still sort of pointless to give it to your dog, especially if you have 70 of them!

nope they just dig holes. but the interface was cloned for BV, and the "Dig For Treasure" option has the reverse animations of the "Fill in" option. I also notice the Blue tiles when you move the holes :P

I've found rocks, bones, little statues, a treasure chest and even maps to hidden lots while my sim was digging up there front yard. I also discovered your sim can hit a water pipe, causing it to burst and spray water everywhere. First time it happened I really thought I'd broken something in my game!
Love the new "digging" option.

... Anybuddy know a cure for Alien withdrawl?

The bone that you find has the description of the toy bone. Or maybe I'm just wrong. Either way, I love this new option!

Yep, because the bones you find are just a recolor of the toy bone. Maxis didn't go overboard with the innovations, heh.

We had a beach near where we lived that was covered in rocks that were about that size. We joked that this was where all the pet rocks ran away from home to. And I am old enough to remember pet rocks, although mine was "captured in the wild."

I am Ghost. My husband (who made the account because I was too shy) is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

Speaking of trinkets you can buy on vacation & stuff you can dig out at the beach - I heard that when you gather these objects & put them on that shelf which came with BV, in the right order, something is supposed to happen. I'm not sure I'm making sense, but I hope someone knows what I'm talking about. Did anyone have something special happen?

Not yet, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I heard something to that effect too. I wish I knew what was supposed to happen.

If anyone else was wondering, I found the answer:

5 Far East souvenirs: sims gain faster skill building
5 Mountain souvenirs: non-romantic socials are more effective
5 Island souvenirs: romantic socials are more effective
5 Seashells: lower bladder decay
5 Voodoo Dolls: nearby sims hallucinate they are being attacked by bees

I shall go try that now!

LOL, I have got to go try for the Voodoo Dolls. That just sounds funny as hell, but one of my families almost has the Far East collection complete.

Has anyone of their sims discovered custom content yet? I mean I read in the "Date Gift" thread of the Nightlife forum that one of their dates gave them custom content. So I was wondering if it was possible for treasure?

Edit:
As a glitch I mean, of course.
