I have the same issue, both on the Freetime and normal PC. The sim will instantly stop writing a novel, well, won't even begin. She even broke the Freetime PC. Before my sim could start writing a novel from the very beginning even with 0 Creativity. My Sim has 5 or 6 in Creativity.

I had the same issue when I started playing. I took out all my hacks that were not updated or confirmed safe and now I can write the new style novel. Not sure which hack was confilcting. Yet. Still testing by adding stuff slowly back in.

My sims gaming journal. Not very informative.

Found it, it was Inteenenator that was causing alot of problems. I couldn't write novels, couldn't talk about hobbies, couldn't read about hobbies. I removed it and everything was there and working again.

...

Never. Leave. Inteenimator. In. With. New. EP.

I would like to clear up the little matter of my sanity as it has come into question. I am not in any way, shape, or form, sane. Insane? Hell yes!

People keep calling me 'evil.' I must be doing something right.

Well, I think other stuff must conflict as well. I always remove Insim and Inteen because they are known to need significant updates for each expansion. I think my problem may have been a non-updated MATY hack. I installed the FT set into my MATY folder, which may have left some non-updated stuff in there. So I erased it and set up a new one. Working fine now.

I'm having the same issue. I can't write novels of any kind. Actually I haven't noticed any new kind of novels, but I haven't played much. My Sim sits down and starts, then I immediately get a message saying that he has finished his novel and hopes that it will sell well. Obviously I never get the call from a publisher giving me money for it.

I don't have InSim installed (waiting patiently for an update), don't use InTeen and I'm 99.5% certain that I have either updated all my hacks or removed non-updated ones.

I'm wondering if it's not the novel writing progresss bar from MATY. Anyone using that with no problems?

EDIT - I'm an idiot. The novel progress bar was not updated for FT. It's that .05% that kills you every time.
