We keep saying that we want more interactions for this or that age group. Why not make a topic for this. What interactions do you want to see in sims 3?
Please do not just post: "I want more interactions for toddlers" - come up with real subjections

I personally want to see as I think the sims are to sweet and sociable:
1) real arguments - so that two sims who has liked each other at some point can have a falling out. We are getting a evil trait, so it could be nice if some sims were hard to have a relationship to, because they would do annoying things.
2) I want married couples to be able to have divorces, please. Right now all they can do is move out, but they are still married.
3) I would like my sims to be able to nag their partner then they forget to take out their plate or if they left the TV on. It would also be nice to be able to do that to your teen son... he did come in very late last night so mom should be put out with him.

And some object interactions that I would really like
4) I would also like the playful sims to play with toys in the bathtub if they were taking a bobble bath that is. Talking about bath, it would be nice to have a quick bath function - you should not get as clean or as comfortable, but it should only take a few minutes. Then it would make more sense that some sims "dream" about a long bobble bath.
5) Sims should be able to sit on the counter tops - I always sit there then I talk to people in the kitchen or even then I cook.
6) I would also like to see an option called "clean" then you clicked on your sim, then they would start cleaning the house like the maid does, but starting with kitchen and bath and then doing the little things afterwards. I would also like them to vacuum and wash the windows - it should be something extra that could raise the environment score to a higher level. I would love to see some of my neat freaks cleaning the house from top to bottom, but having some of my sloppy sims only cleaning the counter tops and the toilet

-Ultimate WooHoo: For extreme romance sims! Can woohoo in bed, under dining tables, in toilet stalls, and anywhere no one can see!
-Entertain-->Perform Stunt...-->*insert dangerous or silly stunt here*: For sims who are serious with entertaining guests/friends/etc!

1306- That sounds so cool, make romance sims, real romance sims, woohoo everywhere! I want shower woohoo, couch woohoo, and chair woohoo!

I'd liked for parents to be able to displine their children and teenagers. An option for lectures, spanking (for children), and grounding would be nice and it should lower the score between the child and parent.

I would like to see sim parents react to their teens boyfriend or girlfriend. If their traits are too different, evil if the parents are good and good if the parents are evil sort of thing, the score between them should start as a general dislike but that's probably getting a little too complex.

I'd like more interactions between children and toddlers. And I want teens and up to be able to sit while they feed babies, and sit with toddlers on their laps and read/sing/say rhymes for them, talk to them etc.
Yakumo, spanking children is prohibited in many countries so I don't think that should be in.

Why does it have to be somewhere no one can see? Some Sims might be exhibitionists!

I agree with most ideas people have replied with.

More parental interactions, dicipline (nag, telling off, grounding, time out etc) where a child/teen will gradually learn not to something or go out of their way to disobey their parents and rebel. Maybe discipline will affect how they grow up too..? I'd also like parents to be able to take babys and children with them when they leave the house - carrying them, holding their hand or in a pram. Same idea applies to pets if they end up being included: taking them down town on a lead.

I'd like children to be able to prepare basic meals - sandwhiches, cereal, or microwaveable food - by themselves. Maybe even prepare more complex ones with the help of an adult? So they can help make dinner or bake cookies. This would naturally cause a huge mess for Mummy to clean up later! :D

I think arguments will occur in The Sims 3 anyway - since Sims personalities will clash and we can now change the tones of their conversations. It seems logical that Sims will now have proper arguements and hold grudges.

Piggy back rides!

Reading books / magazines while on their stomachs in bed / on coach

Toddlers / children being able to crawl into bed with their parents if they had a bad dream

Walking while holding hands

Giving wedgies, with a little "eek!" dance on the receiving one's side

Napping while sitting upright in a chair, like most of us have done while waiting for something to patch / download at some point

Crying in bed while clutching the pillow to their chest

The ability to hide somewhere and then jump out and scare another sim

Smacking a sim on the back of the head with a newspaper

Wrestling. Playfully, like over the remote or a much loved toy

Playing "this little piggy" with babies / toddlers / children

Toddlers escaping during bathtime and streaking through the house (surely I wasn't the only one who did that XD)

Leaning, against the wall / door / counter / another sim

I really like your ideas Morcalivan. Especially the holding hands part. That would be soooo cute!

I'd also like:

-Multitasking/Nested interactions: chatting or making a phone call while cooking, reading the paper while eating, sipping a margarita while lounging by the pool, falling asleep while watching tv, etc.

-Different dances depending on the music: A slow waltz for classical music, dances for samba and salsa music, and the dance we have now for modern rock/pop.

-More pool options: Playing games in the pool, splashing around w/ other sims, chatting with other sims in the pool and lounging at the edges, pool woohoo :P. I'd also like a kiddie pool tool so we can make a shallow end for toddlers to play in. It'd also be cool if cowardly child sims would stay in the shallow pool, while kids w/ the daredevil trait would dive straight into the adult pools.

-More romantic kiss/hug animations: I'd like for the romantic interactions to be more realistic. Right now they're so exaggerated and cartoony that it kills the romantic mood.

Some child related ones for ya, because they're my favourite life stage!

Toddlers

- Toddlers can sit on sofas, kneel of chairs

- Toddlers can interact with each other! For example family kiss, hugs, even babble away in baby language

- Maybe they could even interect with babies, for example parents could hold the baby and toddlers could kiss them, talk to them, etc

Children

- Children should be able to hold babies while sitting down

- Children should be able to make cereal, for Pete's sake

Interactions with kids

- Adults should be able to read a bedtime story to kids/toddlers while they are in bed

Omg with their little arm bands and floats! That'd be so cute and a great idea. I never even took much notice of the fact toddlers couldn't swim in the pools. That could be a new skill to teach them, alongside using the toilet and walking maybe.

And I love the idea of multitasking/nested interactions.

-As for the punishment idea, while your teens and younger Sims are punished (grounded) certain objects should be disabled to make it feel like they are grounded such as TV, telephones, computers, etc. Let books be the only fun thing they can do (because who disallows reading of books anyway?). And the punishment could last anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on the severity of the punishment. Of course teens can rebel by sneaking out and if they get caught, the time length of their punishment will extend.

-Casual woohoo because not everyone is moralistic. Especially for romance Sims who want to woohoo with everyone, rather than having to be in love with them first.

Aww, i really like the holding hands idea!! :D
I like the idea for different ways of discipline, too. Like time out, spanking, grounding, etc. If they have all these traits, it shouldn't be weird that the same discipline wouldn't work on every kid.
The crazy woohoo cracks me up.. I'd totally go for it! I would also love for my sims to be able to talk on the phone while sitting down, and holding a child on their lap while they sit, etc..

I, too, like all these ideas. We'll see if even half of them will be considered by EA. Come on, EA, take some notes and make us truly happy this time!

EA should really take a peek at sites like this one to see exactly what we want. Wouldn't that be awesome, head honchos at EA looking at S2C and saying 'hmmm, sounds possible'? :D

Anyway, I think that TS3 is in need of:
  • Interactions for BABIES! They don't just lie around and do nothing. I think babies should be controllable. They should be able to have a few interactions, such as playing with toddler toys and crying for attention (like how toddlers ask)
  • Interactions between children, toddlers, and babies. When I was a kid, I loved playing with my little brother (and, ok, messing with him a couple of times.) Maybe children can help their parents get a bottle for the baby, or tickle the baby. Maybe they can even have an interaction called 'coochy-coochy-coo!'
  • CHORES! Besides pulling weeds and taking out the trash, sims should have some more chores just like people. Maybe kids will autonomously spill their food or make a mess while eating, so they clean it. Maybe adults have to do laundry. Maybe teens have to clean their rooms, and yell at their parents when told to do so
  • More interactions for FRIENDS! Seriously, half of the interactions between adult sims will cause them to fall in love with each other. Even hugging is romantic! Why can't we have one-armed hugs and bear hugs?
PS, 'extreme woohoo' sounds very...erm...interesting. But I prefer my sims doing 'it' under the covers, thanks

There's so many interactions I want.

-Sitting down (or lying down) while talking on the telphone, for lazy sims. And when they hear something surprising they say "NO WAI!" and sit up.
-Realistic Fighting - and aftermath's like bloody noses, or black eyes
-If there's a small kitchen (with no room for tables and chairs) they move to the next room over instead of taking up space in the kitchen.
-Secret interactions between best friends.
-Inside Jokes
-"Woohoo Friends"
-Sleeping on the couch (in any type of clothing.)
-Sleeping bags, for sleepovers with friends. (should be bought and placed in inventory if playable is sleeping over someone elses house.)
-Napping in bed. (yes I know it's not really an interaction, I just nap in bed alot)
-Toddlers can sleep with parents, or in a bed.
-Teen Pregnancies.
-Teen Woohoo.
-Teens have a "crush" on a certain adult they admire.
-No xylophone pee! >:-(
-More toddler to toddler interactions to build up relationships over time
-More child to toddler interactions... like teasing and helping...
-Children help toddlers learn how to walk, and talk!
-Children can hold toddlers while sitting.
-Babies can be held while sitting. :headdesk:
-Toddlers can sit on couches if placed.

ETA:
-Friendly Kisses (nothing flirtatious... or romantic) like a greeting, kiss on the cheek.

Yeap. That sure is asking for a lot

Not asking a lot, just that a few of those would have to make the game rated M. Especially the blood. There will never be blood in the Sims because it is considered a higher rating. But you do have good ideas in general.

I know I'll have to come back to this as I remember more things but I really want more toddler interactions. In particular, playing catch...you know, where you sit on the floor and roll the ball to them?

I would love more interactions! Badly needed, I say.

I agree there needs to be more interactions for friends, that won't make them fall in love.
I think it would be cool if sims were less enthusiastic about about romance with close friends, especially ones they've known for a long time. Like if a sim is "checking out" their best friend they're put off because of their existing platonic relationship. This could be changed by checking the other sim out on a regular basis, which would gradually make them more open about the idea.. A little complicated, but realistic (IMO).

More and less cartoony romance interactions. I'm seconding Black Barook's proposition of a variety of different hugs and kisses.

One thing I'd LOVE to see is different ways of sitting, walking, sleeping. I don't know if these really count as interactions, since they might be based on character traits, but it would be great if you could make a sim sit with their arms and legs crossed, of have them with their legs apart, leaning forwards with arms rested on their thighs, or with their legs pulled up against their chest. That sort of thing.

I'd like my sims to physically open doors as they walk into rooms, I hate how unrealistic it looks in movies.

Tasting stuff as they cook, having cheeky nibbles at the ingredients (we all do it).

Couples walking with their arms around each others waists, but I'd be satisfied with hand in hand as Morcalivan suggested.

I'd like it if girlfriends could walk arm in arm while gossiping and sharing private jokes.

More realistic woohoo with no comedy noises (I can't bear the 'honk honk!' noise they make!) or ridiculous faces, it's not going to unravel the space time continuum if sims take woohoo a little more seriously. It's a serious business!

I'd love more realistic chores as has been suggested before, like laundry (including bedding and towels), dusting, vacuuming, tidying clutter.

I wish they could do things like brushing their teeth and hair. I'd like to see them apply the make-up look I choose for them too. Depending on their skill and interest in their appearance, it may all go horribly wrong. Although that would probably annoy me after a while.

I'd love it if after a hard day at work they could come home craving comfort food and little pleasures, like everyone does. Like wanting to put their slippers on, have a hot bubble bath, read a good book with a cup of tea, eat a huge bowl of mashed potato, watch a trashy soap opera etc...

I'd like them to have proper bank accounts that they can physically draw from at a.t.m's or over the counter at the bank. They could also apply for larger mortgages to move house if they suddenly start doing well at work, and they could set up college/saving accounts for their kids.

I basically want them as real as possible, living as real a life as possible...but still with those little touches that make them so interesting as sims.

I think it would be cute if toddlers could watch tv. They could watch something like "Nick Jr." or in this case "Sims Jr." And I want the option to take toddlers to community lots so we can have car seats and strollers.

Wow! All of these ideas are really good. I like all of them except a few.

For punishing the children -- I used to always send my kids to their own bedrooms if they were arguing/fighting too much and make them clean their rooms. This calmed them down and also made them want to get along with each other so they wouldn't have to clean! lol! I would like to see more "clutter" items. Let them throw their clothing on the floor if they are not neat sims. Have shoes (separate from clothing), toys, games, books, etc. that they can leave all over the place -- so they have something to clean up.

Speaking of toys and games -- make it so the sims kids can build models, play with clay, play with dolls and have doll clothing and accessories, play board games such as a Sim Monopoly, a Sim Chutes & Ladders. Have jigsaw puzzles that they can do. Oh, and make it so the entire family can play these game sitting at a table and also put the puzzles together. These things don't seem like they would be impossible to do, but I'm not a modder, so I don't know for sure.

Oh, and please Maxis, make it so when an older sim is holding a toddler or baby, they can still talk to the other sims they are living with. I held my kids and talked on the phone, talked to my other kids & husband. The fact that they can't drives me crazy! lol!

Edit: This is way off topic so I'll understand if nobody responds...why does everyone's "Join Date" say Jan 1970? I don't remember there even being computer games then, let alone the sims! :D

I agree but it could very risky. If EA added some realistic moans, it may possibly have to be rated M, depending on how serious the moans are. After all, parents would complain and accuse EA of incorporating audio porn in the game, lol. That would be funny, actually! But I do like this idea because the current sounds we have are annoying. When a young adult female in college does woohoo (she has the teen voice), one of the sounds is an opera melody. It was very funny the first few times but that was it... the first few times. It would be funny if Sims could say words during woohoo to indicate that they are indeed "into" the woohoo, lol.

I have some...

1. Infants have clothes on when born (I feel sorta sorry for the baby that's brought into this cold world from a warm enclosed place..)

2. Holding a toddler's hand while walking down the street.

3. Babies can 'coo' and laugh while any sim is playing and/or talking to them.

4. When a female sim is pregnant she or the baby's father could call for an appointment with a doctor to determine the sex(es) of the embryo(s).

5. Like WYCKED, I strongly feel that sims should be able to sit with toddlers and babies while feeding, etc. (Realisticly, who actually stands while feeding their kids??)

I think that everyone has great suggestions, but I think that The Sims should always keep it's TEEN rating, so just leave the blood and extra-extra woohoo options to the downloads. **MAN, I really hope EA takes some time out to see what us buyers really want out of The Sims 3**
