I was wondering if any one had created a small mod that would randomly generate skill points for fresh out of CAS Sims, or if anyone knows a way to do this using boolprop cheats, that would be even better.

I know you can give your sims whatever skill points you want with Merola's Multi Painting. You can also adjust their skills with SimPE.

I use the college adjuster (inSim? TwoJeffs? I don't remember, I'll go find it in a sec). It's manual, so you'd have to buy the item (stack of phonebooks) and then go through the pie menus, but it's not really a hassle.

EDIT: It's definitely TwoJeffs! Go to simbology.com and click your most recent EP and then click "College Adjuster". It's near the top

hexywoman79, thank you. I didn't know about the painting, but I did know about using SimPE. However, I don't want to set the numbers myself, I want to do it so that the skills are generated randomly, but I'll be sure to check out the painting! Thanks!

MacHeadMandi, That sounds like just the think I'm looking for! Thanks!

You can do it using debug mode, as you correctly guessed in your original post. Activate debug mode in neighbourhood view (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true), enter the house and drag each sim's skills to where you want them to be. Deactivate debug mode by using false instead of true in the cheat.

My newest downloads are on Simified.
Older downloads and stuff that didn't get transferred to Simified are on my Livejournal.

Twojeffs also has the SimBlender, which should do that job. It also has a lot of other features you may appreciate. He has been updating it to properly replace the Insiminator functions.

I've used the SimBlender to randomize skills. I don't know what level you'd like the ransomization to be at because the SimBlender usually randomizes skills as if the sim were almost an elder- they wind up quite high, which to me takes some of the fun out of it.

You could always close your eyes and click drag randomly in debug mode. it would be interesting and a little amusing.

Engram, I knew about that way, clicking and dragging, but I don't want to think "Ok, move it up three more points" and then move it up three more points. I want it to be random (most human's aren't capable of truly coming up with random numbers because they have other influences), but your response did prompt me to an idea. I can use a set of dice to roll and give them random skills.

aelflaed, thanks! I'll check that out ^_^.

ejnarts1, that does take some of the fun out of it. I want them to be random, truly random, so that I have a chance of having someone who is really bad a most things, or someone who is really awesome at cleaning the bathtub, but can't fix the trash compactor at all. And because they are not elders, and don't have as much life experience as elders, I wouldn't want their skills to reflect that. But if you can set the level, that's just fine ^_^.

Closing my eyes and dragging would probably result in high skills, just because I'd probably be unconsciously guiding myself that way.

The SimBlender is definitely random and sometimes gives my Sims very low or non-existent skills in some.
