I would love to see a user-friendly SimPE type thing for the sims 3. There are plenty of extremely intelligent people who made SimPE for the sims 2, I think it would be very interesting if they tried their hands at making something similar for the sims 3. The sims 3 will be able to buy for many years to come. Maybe sometime during that time the bright minds that brought us SimPE for sims 2 will come up with something for the sims 3. I certainly hope so.

Looking for even more TS3 to TS2 Conversions made by me? They can be found on my own site TheNinthWaveSims My Youtube Channel for Sims 2 tutorials and more, though don't expect me to reply to comments on youtube. My 2012 MTS Yearbook

They are on it. Though there will probably not be a single monolithic does-everything tool like SimPE. They're working towards a more modular approach with a set of smaller mutually compatible tools. There are already a couple of different package viewers available

And I know I'm not alone in hoping there -isn't- an all-in-one tool for TS3. I'd much rather have it modular (which does seem to be the trend). SimPE has gotten so bloated that it takes ages to load, even on my pretty shiny computer. A bunch of smaller tools that can be started individually as needed would work SO much better.

Certainly, we will have tools - they just won't be SimPE and I don't know if they'll all be made by the same people (though certainly, some TS2 tool creators will get in on the act for TS3).

Really? How long is forever? It doesn't take more than two minutes at most to load a neighborhood for me. Or do you mean some other aspect of SimPE? I admit, I really only use the neighborhood browser (for changing DNA or skills or whatnot on existing sims).

Loading the program itself takes quite a long time, especially compared to earlier versions, and it is a VERY bloated piece of software. It certainly isn't as long as loading the game or anything, but it is a bit frustrating having to wait a good 60 seconds or so every time I want to take a peek at some bits in a file, having it load all the various bits and bobs that I don't need. A simple package viewer, separate from SimPE, would rock my multicoloured toe socks, and makes me happy that it seems to be the trend they're using for TS3 tools.

It appears that TS3 coding is mandating separate tools, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. My personal SimPE usage probably only scratched the surface of the program

I just hope there is a tool for family relations - one of the first things I did with SimPE was add the sibling relationships between Lola & Chloe and the Curious brothers. Then I fixed all the DNA for the pre-mades so that it matched their family trees.

Of course, I'll need to know how genetics work in TS3 before I can do anything like that for them.
