This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, University Life
Default Custom Content on a Mac
I have read this tutorial, but obviously putting random folders in the Applications folder doesn't work (Just a note: I tried it anyways.).

So, oh knowers of knowledge, whither do we put our .package files?

(I am guessing it involves the Library?)

The "Installing package Files" system in Wiki works for Mac also.

http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?...g_Package_Files

Use Finder... Go to Applications
Right Click on Sims3 (Green Diamond icon)
Choose "Show Package Contents"

Contents/Resources/Transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages

PS.. I use the Unarchiver for opening rar files. http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html

Hey guys. Delphy just updated the "Resource.cfg" file, so that we could now have 4 subfolders in the "Package" file. Thankyou! It works great. I have Hacks, Textures,Skins and Misc folders.
Get the new Resource file from Wiki and replace your old one if you want subfolders.

Hey everyone. I was woundering if any of you know how to install houses in the sims 3. I've got the textures, hacks and so on to work but when I click on the "house.sims3pack" file it says that I have to update the sims 3.

Take care=)

Fijja, The houses that you download are opened automatically by double clicking the green diamond. It uses the EA Game Launcher.

Is your game patched? I couldn't use the launcher either, until I got it patched from "Game Updates" at the Sims3 site.

Is this where mac users put the Pattern packages too? It isn't working for me. I've gone over the instructions many times and to see if I'm doing anything wrong. I can't get new patterns to show up. Any advice?

HELP!
Seriously, if I have to read another tutorial, I'm going to throw my Sims 3 away. I've read the wiki tutorials and others tutorials, on where to put custom content in, and when I start playing Sims 3, guess what!

It's not there...even when I hit the custom-star-button-thing...
So this is where my "recource.cfg" is at.

Contents>Resources>transgaming>c_drive>Programing Files>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3>"recource.cfg"

In the Sims 3 file, there are 4 other files...Caches, Game, GameData, and Thumbnails.

I do not have a Mods folder, but I do have a Packages folder, which is located in GameData>Shared>Packages.

Even when I put the downloaded content in there, it doesn't show up...Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?!

Thank you!
& I apologize if that was confusing..

SAO,
I just tested Marthis's Mac Installer . It will set you up properly if you did something wrong.

If you are installing new Default skin tones , they won't show up in game unless you "Plan Outfit" in a mirror, Or delete the simCompositorCache.package and Worldcashe in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

Things like patterns and textures are hard to find in the game sometimes since they show up in the Texture categories ,all mixed in with the EA texture stuffs. They won't show by pressing the custom-star-button-thingy.

Ya sure once you open the rar or zip and place it's contents (the downloaded .package file) into the new Package folder that it isn't just hiding in the game?

SAO, where exactly are you putting your packages at the moment? You mentioned "GameData>Shared>Packages" a few days ago, which is absolutely the wrong place.

Please read this FAQ again, in particular step 6:

so JUST TO BE SURE, we create a Mods folder in the Contents/Resources/Transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/
folder and then a Packages folder in that then we put our packages in THAT? thats a bit complex,
