Yep what they said. I've been doing that from the start. Once I get the hang of all the flows of the game I may decide to work a neighborhood with no cheats, but for now, I'm a needs cheater! =) Oh, and using this also makes it convenient for keeping your babies fulfilled but sleepy enough to stay out of the way a bit while your adult sim works on an ability. |

I was just hunting in the hopes of finding info on how to make my bed "charge" them up faster. I totally agree the sleep is a killer. |

Once you have the testingcheatsenabled enabled, you can also shift click the mailbox and make the needs static/dynamic. |

You know what? Their needs were driving me insane at first, too! Then I realized, that unlike TS2 Sims, these Sims can actually get hungry and not die within 15 minutes! ![]() Seriously, you can let their hunger meter get near to the bottom, have them eat a simple meal and it fills all the way up. The sleep thing takes a bit of getting used to. I know, it's difficult getting the idea into my head that a Sim actually could require a full eight hours of sleep a night and sometimes I get lucky and Seth only needs seven. It just takes some practice to get everything in sync, but once you get it down it's not so bad. |

I had no idea you could control the needs with testingcheatsenabled true. I was so used to playing TS2 and having hacked objects to keep their needs up that I had completely forgotten what it was like to have to make them eat, sleep, and all of that when I'd rather them be doing something else. Thanks for the heads up! |

Heh... I find it pretty easy to keep my sims needs up. I just got myself this mood regulator thingy and problem solved :D |

Yeah, once you get a few happiness rewards you can make their needs pretty much inconsequetial. In the meantime, don't forget that better beds, showers etc also work faster and save sims time. Having said that, for anybody craving mods that make the game easier, there are really a lot out already in various places :/ I won't use a mod that nerfs the challenge myself, but there are all kinds of gamers, I know |

Thanks for that cheat. I had no idea and the needs were making the game very unenjoyable for me. I wanted to go explore, make friends, go fishing, etc., but my sim's needs were always bottomed out after work making it difficult to do anything. You just made the game way more fun for me so thanks again!

I was about to ask this question when I came across this threa.d Seriously Simmers are the best gaming community on the planet, (probably on all planets everywhere but I've only been to a few). Thanks! |

The adults needs aren't that bad. Like someone said before, they don't have to do something immeadiately after it's not in the green. But babies/toddlers? DIFFERENT STORY! I had twins the same day the first baby turned into a toddler. It was extremely difficult to keep up with all their needs. Maybe it's because I always used cheats in TS2 and didn't mess with needs. But it was tough. Tried to get them on a schedule, but the parents were outnumbered and someone would always get left out. They got very little time to sleep, eat or shower. I guess this is pretty realistic! |

I also have apples and other fruits in their backpack so if they are out in town they can grab a quick snack. It fills their bar about half way from a peice of fruit. I was running her to the park or home to get her to eat, but then I realized she could eat the fruit. I hope this helps. |

The only time I've had a little trouble with needs is when I've had a toddler and 2 babies at home. It's not hugely better then Sims 2, but noticeably better. |

Sims with the "mooch" trait can bum food off total strangers. My moocher sim never goes hungry. He's also a heavy sleeper, so he takes a nap if he gets sleepy and off he goes. The needs got me down too. And then I thought about it. I think their needs are about the same as TS2, but we don't have the luxury of time freezing whenever we leave our houses. I always feel like I'm running out of time. I didn't realize how much I took advantage of taking my sim out of the house and he'd still have all these extra hours to sleep and take care of his needs. |

Can anyone tell me when I'm supposed to be typing this in? Me and my sister tried it yesterday and it didn't work for us. I had played, then she created a neighborhood, typed it in, went to CAS, and it didn't work in the game. I had read that it had to be done before CAS and she did, but it did not work. Is it because I played first? So technically I did go in CAS before entering it, but I thought switching neighborhoods would change that. Basically, my drawn out question, does it have to be pretty much the first thing you do when you get in the game? ThanksEdit: I got it! Apparently I think I WAS doing it right, it just doesn't work unless the game isn't paused. Actually I think it does, it just doesn't show up unless you hit play, at least for me! Just in case anyone else had the same problem! |

Anyone mention the reward thingies you can buy? I'm pretty sure there is a 'reward' for every need. The most popular being steel bladder, which nulls peeing pretty easily. |
