LOL. Well I'm glad you found it. Computers hate us all and are out to destroy us or at least irritate us, no doubt about that.

Well, that depends on where you put "My Documents" and where you installed the game. For a default installation of both Windows and the game, the right paths would be

Game Folder: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\
and (I think!)
C:\Documents and Settings\your windows username\My Documents

I have that, and I'm still getting an error message.

[EDIT] Nevermind, it's working.

When you say,

"You should see a thumbnail of the bed appear below the list of objects on the left.

There are 2 options below the thumbnail: “Clone” and “Color Options”. Make sure “Color Options” is selected. "

1.) I don't see a thumbnail anywhere. Is this before or after I select 'Start'?

2.) It won't let me select 'Color Options', before I hit 'Start'.

i have jumped to the item then hit start and it shows the thumbnail .. so if you type or copy n paste the iron bed like he shows in the tutorial it takes you to it, click it then hit start

After you hit "Start" you can't select anything.

The Thumbnail apears as soon as you click on a Object in the List. (Only Objects starting with * have a Thumbnail)

If you can't select Color Options, you might have the wrong SimPE Version!

Thank Quaxi for the brilliant addition to SimPE. Writing the tutorial was definitely the easy part. It's a great tool. Now we can concentrate on the textures and not on juggling and renaming files.

Default Thanks
Thank U RGiles. This was the easiest tutorial ever. I was able to recolour on the expensive loveseats in a wine color. I'm so excited I forgot which one it is. Well thank u so much!!!

I made templates for the bedding (to help you line the seams up right) and for a few other objects as well. You can find them all here:
http://forums.modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=64

Scroll down to below the list of subforums. There are very few posts there, so they are easy to find.

The plugin will not work and I have the latest SimPE. Why? I get that red color with X on it here is a photo.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

Go to your menu at the top of the SimPE program where it says Extra and go into Options and put the path to the Sims 2 program file folder... then it will work.

My First Recolor!!!
Hello, I tried recoloring the bed but I just couldn't get it to come out right. I decided to try a chair and it worked, yea! It isn't much but it's a start. I think I'll give the bed another try now.
