I'm saddened to see all of this bashing of Sims 3 going on. Once I downloaded Pescado's fix my game has been pretty fun. I know EA Games were not so smart to release the game with a bug so huge but if anyone else can get the game to work I'm happy. To me this game is no way as bad as Spore. Does anyone else like the game? |

I do ![]() Spore was incredibly boring. TS3 is completely NOT boring. There is a lot to discover and experiment with! |

I do :p Even if there's no doubt EA kidding us once again by delivering a buggy game... But I do believe it will become a very nice game, one patch after another, and with help of our community ^^. |

I honestly have not had the time to give the game a proper grade, though my initial impression is positive. I think my opinion is colored somewhat by having gone through nightmare launches in various MMOs. The Sims 3 launch has missed the mark terribly. But is it terrible? In my opinion, no. I think it has potential to be a great game, on par with TS2 in time. I'll continue to explore TS3 while playing TS2 and Vanguard SoH (for the moment). It will mature in much the same way TS2 has with fantastic community content and fun expansions. |

Oooh, a positive note! I needed that! I really like the game! ^^ The traits stuff is so much fun! As well as the patterns and being able to customize things! Sure, graphics are still a bit glitchy, but.. Come on guys; leopard printed notebooks! xD That makes everything alright again :D |

I'm enjoying it so far. I love how open it is and how fast it all loads up. And, I know most people hate it, but I looove the way the sims look in this. They're like little porcelain dolls with glass eyes. |

ummmmm, so far, I can't say I prefer it to TS2. I suppose I need to give it more of a chance. So I guess time will tell. |

I like it so far. It's different than previous Sims but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I kind of like learning new games in general though. I like the majority of the new gameplay dynamics and I can see most of the stuff that feels missing/negatively changed from Sims 2 getting added/fixed in the near future via patch or EP. Aside from an issue with my sims developing pattern baldness and foliage looking like blocky, blurred, glowy blobs (both fixed by turning off adaptive AA in CCC on day 2), I really haven't encountered any technical issues. I have only been playing one family and building houses so far however. I installed the Awesome mod last night to pre-emptively take care of the storyline progression issue, but I might remove it and try the workaround until a patch comes out. Building does feel a bit constrained and slightly frustrating compared to my recollection of Sims 2 + a few EPs and a bunch of CC, but I'm hoping that Sims 3 should come along in that regard given time. There are a number of nifty features added in this department in TS3 (diagonal and freeform furniture placement is a big one). |

It's growing on me. The day the game was released I installed it.. And played it for fifteen minutes before being like, "F this, I want my 2 back." and played TS2 the rest of the day. Then an internet friend of mine convinced me to play it (she's never played 2, just TS1) and I spent the whole day yesterday with it. I'm ADDICTED. I actually finally like TS3

I hated it at first because customizing neighborhoods and going out on the town are two main reasons why I play the Sims but as I've grown more used to it I am starting to see the potential. It is untapped potential right now but I believe it will get there and when it does it will be incredible. There are still quite a few things on my wish list so I hope future mods, patches and expansions fulfill some of them. You have to dig a little deeper with Sims 3 but I'm glad I did. |

I personally love the game. I guess it's easier for me because I'm not a micromanager so the story progression not working was no big deal to me. Actually I've sort of used it to my advantage. Whenever I'm playing one of families and they have a baby, I switch and go play another family for awhile. By the time I go back to the original family, the baby is now a toddler. I hate taking care of babies and I don't have servos to do it anymore |

I haven't gotten my game yet (Amazon sent it out yesterday though), but I'm anticipating that it will be a different gameplay experience than the first two games, which I will still play when I want that specific kind of Sims game. That being said, I think alot of the disapointment stems from playing Sims 2 with all of the EPs and CC. It isn't a fair comparison at all. Sims 3 is a different game and it's a base game. For a fair comparison, I've uninstalled my Sims 2 and reinstalled the base game with no EPs or CC. Just the patch. I think that will be a much fairer comparison. So far, I'm not thrilled with my vanilla base game sims and plain jane houses. I miss my goodies! I also don't agree with people who say the new sims are ugly (and the toddlers are ugly). I've seen the pictures people are posting and the sims look better than base game Sims 2 sims...and the toddlers I've seen are adorable. Just sayin'.

Oh, yeah. I was bracing for teh slowness. It takes some doing to make a sim that really stands out. I skimped the first time and just made my sim blue with cream-colored hair. I luff her, but she's like a big, evil, crazy smurf lady. |

I really really really like the game. I like the way the Sims look, though it took me a little time (and practice in CAS) to get used to the new look. TS3 is definitely mining a different aesthetic than TS2 did, but once you are familiar with the sliders in CAS, it's easy to produce a whole range of different looking Sims. (I think people forget how lame and alike our earliest TS2/BodyShop Sims looked.) I like CAST, though it has definitely increased the amount of time I spend in the buy and build modes. While the buy catalog is certainly limited (as it was in base TS2), CAST makes it possible to match any object you want with your Sims' other possessions. No more waiting around for someone to post recolors. I like the lighting. Yesterday, while my Sim was in the theater pursuing his dreams of rockstardom, I watched the sun set over the ocean, and then watched as the sky grew darker and the stars came out. That was something that never happened in TS2. I like the social interactions. They feel more organic now and it's not so much about "Oh, I have a 20 STR now, time to tell jokes and express admiration." The social menu also seems to be much more varied than pre-NL TS2 was. I like that I can follow my Sims to work, even if they do just disappear into a rabbit hole. It's nice to be able to choose how they spend their time at work and is probably much less tedious than actually following them around as they do the same things over and over all day long (I get enough of that at my own job). It's also nice that, after work, I can just cancel the "go home" action and send my Sim off to the park or to buy groceries instead. The seamless neighborhood is epic win. |

So I'm like, "Cool! What should I get? Brain in a jar... monkey's paw... ooh, pie!"

Me. I'm positive that hacks/mods will fix the few major and many minor problems/bugs (heck, that's already started and it's only been a few days) and I'm even more positive that future expansions will bring bigger and better gameplay. Until then, I'm enjoying the gameplay a lot, and can't wait to move my kids out and have them start their own families

Just my first impression.Got my copy today and was very busy wih RL.Well,I have launched the game only once, for a try and test. Was very anxious and even worried after being so addicted to my beloved Sims 2. It was a delightful surprise.Beautiful graphics, beauty, beauty! Just my impression. However I am still anxious because the commands seem (to me) so complex, don't know how much time I'll need before being able to really control the game. Besides I am lost (in my poor brain) between "Ea's manager" and "Delphy's manager !!!!" I have already downloaded the new tools from our genial mad scientists, here and on MATY,have a superb "Tutorial folder" on my harddrive..BUT: Now I have to learn like crazy.Reminds me of a whole week reading more than 500 posts and trying to understand as Phervers released his wonderful Clean Installer...a nighmare !!! Well,I am optimist,I honestly believe that Sims 3 will be great....with custom tools, custom content and expansions...But its just a first impression.Hugs. |

I do. I mainly play to build, decorate, create Sims and give them makeovers, so I'm not bothered by story bugs so far. There are several drawbacks to the game, but I don't regret buying it. |

I have to admit that I was really sceptic about TS3 during the last few weeks. I found out about many, many things (including not working story progression toggle) I felt I would not like. But I decided to first play the game myself before judging about it. I'm from Germany, that's why I got it only yesterday and I played it through the evening and today, so I've probably seen just a minimal extract of the game so far. But I have to say: I like it and grew fond of it really fast, which was a great relief. Personally, I love the open neighbourhood, no loading screens and the trait system the most. It feels like my sims are getting more personality and quirks, that hugely influence their lives, at last. Additionally, I like the new look of my sims and I'm confident, that it will take no time to make truly unique sims again, just with a bit of training with the new CAS. Of course there are some things that I would have loved to be implemented in the game (like memories, to name just one), but I'm sure the next addons will 'fix' that. ![]() As far as I played, I didn't encounter any bugs or glitches (aside from the broken story progression) and I hope my game can stick to that. But I will preventively download Pescados fix.Well, alltogether I've got a quite positive impression of the game.

I love it! For the past few months my biggest complaint was how the sims looked, but they grew on me. The new look gives the game a Disney Pixar cartoon vibe, so my goal is to play it as campy and comedic as possible, lol. And with enough tweaking, they come out pretty cute (though, I'm still clamoring for some new hair!) I'm not overly bothered by story progression, at least not yet. I just love the overall look of the game, it's very visually pleasing. I love the voices you hear coming from the buildings. But my favorite part of all is when I took my self-sim to the cemetery at night to talk with the shiny ghosts, lol. It's an enjoyable game, and I think it'll only go up from here. |

I love it. I personally love the look of the new sims. At first I was a little iffy, but now I'm so addicted. I am really OCD about things matching, so this was great for me. Plus, you can choose shoes! There are so many reasons why I love it, but I feel like I would just be repeating everyone, so I'll stop and just say I absolutely love it. |

I don't think it's a bad game. I mean, I play it a lot. And it's fun. I get mostly the same buzz from it that I did from TS2, just that I can't decorate as much as I'd like to, so I have to play it more for the life-managing than the building and decorating... Of course, there's the obvious problems. But now I've got the Awesomemod running, which fixes some of it. I wish the family switching was more better. I hate losing promises and opportunities. If I want to switch between two families all of my plans end up getting ruined because the Sim I leave no longer is interested in my plan when I return. Example, I had a Sim who wanted to grow fresh ingredients for a meal. I did something with a different family and came back to her to get her to start growing the food, but of course by then, she no longer gave a shit about what she did before. That totally sucks. So whenever a Sim wants a certain thing, and you want to help that Sim get that certain thing, you are stuck there until it happens. Otherwise, tough. If I had sent her out to buy the seed(s) and planted them, I would have had to sit there and wait until the plant grew and vegetables appeared and then had her make the dish before she accomplished her want/wish/promise. The whole thing would have taken Sim-days. To deviate and god forbid, play a different family, then I lose. Sucks. So I think overall it is enjoyable. It's just got some glaring flaws which are hard to get used to. I would rate it probably a 4/5. |

Still digging around myself, but so far I'm REALLY liking this new version. Just the fact that now it is possible to explore the neighbor hood and crash parties alone makes it worth it. That and as much as I loved the Sims2, it was just getting to be too much of a kludge. It's almost as if they took many of the best ideas from TS2 and the mod community and incorporated it into this game. Graphics to me are acceptable, not exactly state of the art, but at the same token not too hard on system resources either. Yes, items available for purchase are a little limited, but as others have said, once the mod community has had a chance to develop some CC for this game, it should really make TS3 shine! |
