Thank you for this!

It is so annoying to have a bunch of sims over, then they all wander off to consume their food privately!!

Thank you! I never understood why sims go outside and eat on lawn furniture, when there's a perfectly good dining room next to the kitchen!

Thank you so much for this! It will save my sims so much walking time They won't have to waste time serving a meal to the garden which is ages away from their kitchen and then having to walk back and forth putting all the leftovers away too.

OMG great idea.
I remember once the kid had a tree house and dad went up there to have his breakfast!
BTW, where did all the downloads go? has there been a crash or something I don't know about?

Thanks so much! It was infuriating having to make a table in the kitchen, because my sims would walk outside in the dark instead of using the bar counter right next to the fridge.. -.- Hopefully this works that way too. ;P

can this be used by those of us without apartment life? or does it also apply to the normal game play ie-when neighbours just come over and stand up when they could sit on a chair!

I would have like my Sims eating in a better location but unfortuanately after downloading this particular hack the food just disappears after my sims have taken it out of the fridge. So I have no choice but to remove it and everythings back to normal.

I downloaded this because it's a great idea, but, like with 1happiness, it's causing the jump bug for my sims when they try to take a dish from anywhere. The EPs I have are Glamour Life, Nightlife and Seasons.

I also have that bug. I have all expasnions and all stuff packs except holiday and mansion.

I ran Hack conflict Detector, and it couldn't find anything conflicting.

I hope you can figure it out.

With this mod in, my sims also errored out when trying to eat. I have all EPs. HCDU did not find a conflict. I suspected there was a conflict anyway, maybe with one of Dizzy's food-related mods, but I am no longer sure.

I've had the same problem. When a sim wants to eat something, but there is no room at a table, or there is no table at all, the plate will just disappear. Also, when I have them to have a snack, the snack will just disappear.

A single drop of knowledge, is a drop of full strength

Those that are having problems, did you make sure to download and install the 2 other files mentioned?

#22 Old 26th Jun 2009 at 8:33 AM
First, let me thank you for fixing a problem that has been bothering me since Sims1.
But I am definitely sticking with the old version of this, discontinued or not.
I've got two reasons to do so.
a) The last version works. Seeing as you are not really continuing this mod (it's been up for download almost a month and people have been trying to tell you that it doesn't work for two weeks now without even something like 'I'm working on it'!) I think that I'll be better of with a working unsupported version than with a non-effective supported version.
b) It consists of only –one– file and doesn't force me to download –two– other files. I can not see what these other –two– files do for my game-play except that –you– somehow need them. Makes me wonder why you didn't put them in the mod in the first place?

to MosconeCtr, 1happiness, spiffeystar, valasia, zEichii, Gwenke33 and everyone having issues with the "jumping" when grabbing plates from the fridge:
have you downloaded my newest Globals Pack (version 1.1)? Because you will get that exact problem you are all describing with version 1.0:
Error: Invalid constant.
Node: 9
Tree: id 8211 name 'df - Eat - _Entry' version -44032

That is precisely why it says version 1.1 is required in the Overview page.

And you could see on my profile page that I've not logged in for around 2 weeks (last on date) because I've been busy with work. But to MosconeCtr, those other 2 files are explained with excruciating detail in their readme files, including an explanation of why I made them separate downloads instead of being included in each and every one of my hacks. If I make version 1.2 of that Globals Packs, then I would need to reupload a new rar file for 30 different mods if 1.1 was included in each and every mod that needs it. It's just too much work for me to keep updating individual rar files for so many mods.

It works for normal gameplay, meaning you don't need the Apartment Life EP. It also works for all lots (not just apartment buildings). It even works for the original base game with no EPs/SPs installed. I don't think it will force your neighbors to sit though, unless you have enough chairs. But it will allow them to use more places to sit, like on sofas and recliners (so maybe it will also do what you are suggesting).

Just wanted to add that I too am getting the "Invalid constant" object error when my sims go to grab a plate. It's a shame because this would be a really useful hack otherwise.
