I'm seeing so many hate threads about Sims 3. So I want to know, Am I the only one who actually likes it? Anyone else here like it?

I actually do enjoy it. There are some things I wish they had kept or included but overall I'm happy with the game. Shocker, I know :P

I've really been enjoying the game. The main problem that people seem to have with the game is that it's not The Sims 2. It's a new game. People need to embrace the good things it does add, and get over the fact that it doesn't have the exact same things The Sims 2 had. If it was just a prettier Sims 2 with a new open town, people would complain that that was it. The only real problem I have with the game is the time flow, but it's not a huge deal.

I'm honestly glad to know there's someone else enjoying it, too. It makes me sad that people are so quick to give up on it.

That's because people enjoy whinging.

I have some serious problems with the game. I do feel like EA cheated us on content because they want to make more money off of us, and I do feel that the bugs they let slip inside are lame.

But I am still really loving playing it, and insofar as bugs go, it isn't any worse off than TS2 was originally, with the horrid jump bug that made everyone's lives miserable for quite awhile. The content, once again, sucks, but CAST partially makes up for it, and since we all hate EAxis-made content in the first place I suppose we're all just better off waiting for custom content to be made. At least then we won't have to scroll through so many pages of clothes and objects we don't want, ha ha.

I am a sweet, fluffy bunny. I live in a golden meadow surrounded by unicorns and butterflies. I have 10 nice points.

Better?

I have been neglecting husband, children and housework all weekend. Safe to say, I greatly enjoy Sims 3. Of course there are issues, but what game is perfect?

I just think that people are like OMG! It doesnt have weather! This is because it the BASE GAME. People need to understand taht not every single thig is coming with the base game. Thats what EP's are for!

People are also complaining that the game doesn't include everything from the Sims 2 expansions. Well, duh. They want to make money, and it would be ridiculous if they included everything from the get-go. Yeah it sucks, but it's not like The Sims 2 included everything that The Sims expansions included. People were just expecting far too much. This is what happens when you let a game get so hyped.

I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me significantly. I think if more people gave it a chance more people would find that it's pretty good. There are problems but this is just the base game and I can't wait to see what expansion packs they have in store for us!

Yeah, I am finding it quite fun right now, although I am looking forward to more hacks/mods/downloads and the first few EPs.

Yeah. I really like it. Obviously there are a few little nitbits that I'd change, but I'm happy enough with it not to whine.

I LOVE it. Are there problems? Yes. (Seriously, some of the bugs that are in there are ridiculous, and they should have been caught and fixed!) But what they did with the design tool is enough to keep me happy for a loooong time (I'm a "build" player-type).

I do have to admit, though, I really miss all my CC! (But I remember feeling the same way when TS2 released).

I do like it, enough to play it. It's not TS2, then again, I didn't expect it to be. I never wanted it to include everything about sims 2.
I was disapointed, however, when I found sims memories missing. I liked to go back and see what my sims had done.
I was also a bit disapointed with the open neighborhood. I expected to see a more active community, but so far sims only show up to talk, play chess, read a book and that's about it. I didn't see anyone grilling at the community grill-a-thon. Or anyone fishing.
Ghosts look awesome though, I love the shining look of them and the music that plays in the graveyard.
Sims looks. Well, I like them, I wish there was no pudge face effect and that their eyes looked more alive. There are some times where I feel creeped by looking at them. They look dead.

So far, I think the game sucks compared to the hype that was created around it. But all in all, despite the bugs and the slow 3 speed, I'm enjoying this game. Could it have been better? Hell yes.

This signature has been censored because of the 13 year old badly written sentimentalism. -.-

It took a while to grow on me, but I'm enjoying Sims 3 quite a bit now. With no loading times, my Sims are actually taking advantage of the community lots, and each time I play I find something new and interesting for them to do. I only have one family so I've not been bothered by story progression not functioning properly. I also love collecting things and skilling, so I'm really in my element.

The only real issues I have right now, are the dismal pathing and all the choking while eating. What the heck is that all about? It doesn't seem to matter what quality the food is, they retch as if they've been served rotting monkey poo.

My sims love the freedom, the open world to discover, BEST GAME EVER !!

I like the game. It's not that demanding, there are options available for you to let your Sim live longer so that they can accomplish more..and it's easier for me to play 4 separate families in 4 parallell universes than to play the same 4 families in one town...and have to keep up with them (and every other family in town) just so that they can age consistently.

I have to chuckle, though, at those who are complaining the loudest. I hope people realize that those who are complaining the loudest are the same people who couldn't *wait* for the game to came out, and kept bashing everyone who even dared to point out that they didn't think the game was going to be all that hot.

And now, the very same problems that the nay-sayers warned them about are the very same problems they're yelling the loudest about. And, I'm sorry if this sounds ugly, but I think that many of the people who are complaining about the *gameplay* are a bunch of spoiled brats....who couldn't wait to buy the game, and now are suffering a severe case of buyer's remorse.

Oh by the way, to cover my tush: I need to add the disclaimer that the only people I exempt from my blanket statement are those who are having serious technical issues with the game.

Love it.. ok there isn't as much game play as TS2 but then this has no expansion packs yet. They just need to patch the bugs, only one i have had so far is the sims path being blocked now and then when theres nothing infront of them

I hate it because it sucks my life away. I think I spent like two straight days doing nothing but playing TS3. *hangs head and puts loser sticker on her forehead*

It's really an awesome game. At first I was like "...ehh", but the build options and everything just make it so much more fun. It actually feels challenging, rather than just.. doing the same thing over and over. TS2 was just too easy for me.

I miss my sims but I really am having way too much fun with the sims 3 to bother with my old game right now.

I think exactly the same! God damn, it's quite addictive, especially when there's nothing better to do!

I'd say create-a-style makes the game for me as it is, never mind the open world. You've gotta love the small details though. Like, some of the moodlets that occur, such as an aching back in a pregnant woman. Being able to name novels, paintings, write gravestone inscriptions, it's really these little features that really make the game great.

I love it. It is much easier for me to play for long periods of time than the first two games. Really the only things I have to complain about are the lack of hair, clothes, etc (which can hopefully be easily remedied soon), and the fact that you can't control your Sim inside buildings. I can see that being added in a future EP.

Overall I'm really pleased.

I am totally new to the Sims universe (I think EA had me in mind as their target market..) and I think the game is fabulous.

As for Sims 2, obviously I've heard good things about it, but I'll never buy it since it's old now and will never have new official content added.

That's just how life is. Planned obsolescence. Without this, the world would be an entirely different place. Things, hobbies, ideas go out of fashion, and have been changing on their own or with some help from marketers for literally centuries. The Sims is no exception.

People are speaking of EA's greed and whatnot, well news flash, every game company does this to some extent. World of Warcraft, arguably the best known modern video game (modern meaning not an older one like Donkey Kong), and their business model heavily mirrors that of EA's with the Sims. You can't play "end game" without paying for two expansion sets. You can't stick with "vanilla" WoW where the level cap only went to 60 and get new content, and most likely will have few friends who share your frugal point of view to play with. Were a lot of people upset when they saw another paid expansion for WoW? Some were. The majority knew they had no choice but to buy it, and they really are enjoying the latest dungeon added to endgame.

While you may think "EA is just trying to penny pinch!" think about this; people work for EA, people who have families that need to be fed. While it is true that CEO's get better pay than most company employees, this is not unique to EA nor is it within your scope to single handedly change by refusing to buy The Sims 3.

*Puts away soapbox*

I really like Sims 3, it's a great game

At first I didn't like the game at all and I even reinstalled all my sims 2 games, but when it was taking hours to find and download custom content, I decided to play some Sims 3 in the meantime. After playing for a couple of hours and getting the hang of everything, I've decided that I really do like this game and went ahead and uninstalled Sims 2 again I like the sheer variety you get from the customizable textures and hair and clothes and everything, and while there may be less actual objects than were in Sims 2 (which I dont know is true), it feels like my homes are a lot easier to match (or not to match) everything and make them look nice.

Everything in this game just looks so much better than in Sims 2 and there is just so much I have yet to explore, graphics wise and mechanics wise.

I would love to play it, but, I have to buy a brand new PC. My old one does not have the right CPU to handle it. Sadly, I have to wait for my birthday (Aug 15th) to get a new PC. I'm just curious about the facial customization. How detailed is it? I mean can you create a different Sim everytime? Also, the clothes. Are they better? (lol)

OMG, I totalllllllly LOVE it! I do not impose my opinion on those who don't, cuz, well... if you tried it and you don't like it, no one or nothing can make you. But I'm SO impressed and just finding new things in my game ALL the TIME! I know that there'll be CC & EPs coming, so I'm not gonna complain about ANYTHING the game may lack
