wigglekins Original Poster Test Subject Join Date: Jun 2007 Posts: 19	Okay, so I had these twin sim girls who moved out together upon entering young adulthood. Neither of them had romantic interests with anyone. I played with their older siblings for while before I got them settled in and when I went to play with them, one of the girls had a toddler son with really crappy traits. When I checked his family tree, it did not list a father. I'm so confused. I don't want this fricking kid, and he doesn't even have a father!

Babynerd_16 Lab Assistant Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 87	I had the same problem except i didnt mind the kid but i wish three things could have happened: 1: I got to pick the name 2: Pick the traits 3: Wish i knew who the father was......... So i am still aging her and teaching her (her name is Doris) but those are the only really things i wish i could have controlled.

I used the testingcheatsenabled cheat to shange his traits and I went to the city hall and changed his name. That's something you might consider for your poor Doris, Babynerd_16. My surprise baby had an okay name, but I already had a sim with that name (Garrett). Anyway, I guess I'll have to be more careful about playing with ALL households from now on.

I think they are adopting them with the phone. Because I was playing a sim and I wanted her to adopt a little girl and when I checked the family tree it only had HER as the mother, no father showed up. But that is just my opinion of what is going on. I guess we may never know for sure though. But it makes more sense to me, since no father shows in the family tree.

I also toyed with the idea of alien abduction (since she's a genius), but I don't even know if that's a possibility in TS3, now that I think of it.

alyria80 Instructor Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 546 Thanks: 467 in 8 Posts 4 Achievements	Genetics in this game aren't nearly as good as in Sims 2, but since none of my white parents have generated black babies and none of my black parents have generated white babies I'm going to guess they are genetically connected to the mother. But in this game even two red heads created in CAS can produce a blonde child.

Yes, Believe it or not, When my sims adopted the little girl, when she grew into a toddler she favored my sim some. lol. Maybe it was a coincidence.

Definitely, I think, since someone mentioned their blue sim ending up with a blue baby.

Allisson Test Subject Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 15	I have tested this, I once had a child with a mailman and it didn't tell me who his father was but I knew it was him. I married Gage a pastry chef(?) and then it said that was his father. Same as my girl, I had a child with Stiles and it didn't show up as her father until we went steady. So it only becomes her father when they are going out there is no 'real' father.

The poor child is named Samir! And, I can't make him come live with my Sim I want the kid to live with his dad so he has a normal-ish name (at the moment he is Samir Mae ) Any idea how to do this without cheating, preferably.

mamasita Lab Assistant Join Date: Feb 2005 Posts: 111 Thanks: 116 in 1 Posts 4 Achievements	That is so weird, i dont like story progression that much, my sims keep having babies too, i created this girl and she married this townie and then i saved and went to edit town and started playing another family, then when i find my sim walking around town pregnant, i was like aw ok, then she started having the baby there, all sims around her screaming, im like oh crap i need to take her to the hospital, then she had triplets (boys) and she left with one of them, the dad took one and left, and they left me there with the third one lol, i was like omg whatnow? eventually they came by and took him too and left me there....
