Maybe I'm an idiot who does everything wrong. But I've followed FAQ, did everything as it was written, step by step (restarting, checking many times folders' name if it's the right place, enabling custom content in game's options...) but the custom content won't work, anyway. No houses, sims or clothes.
I opened BodyShop and played around with it. Clicked "import to game" and it told me it was imported to my game without problems (they all are in "SavedSims" folder). I also used BodyShop to get some sims into a file, I put them into Downloads, hoping they would work (as the original *.package files didn't), but no luck with it, either.

I'm playing with Windows 98 compatibility (I have Vista), others won't let my game open. I was wondering if it could be caused by the fact my game's multilanguage (playing on Polish), but I don't think it should matter?
Base game only. And all custom content I put in Downloads folder is for base game. I installed it using Sims's installer. And Clean Pack Installer.

You see, I'm a bit frustrated, because I installed Sims 2 only for custom content so I could play with my favourite characters from various series...

Thanks in advance and sorry for troubling You with my newbie problems.

I know you say you did "everything" in the "FAQ", but I have to ask one thing:

When you enabled custom content, did you immediately exit the game and restart it? If not, do.

Yes, yes I did. I did it twice, actually. But I may try once again.

Sorry I didn`t help; some people don`t know that you`re supposed to restart after toggling that control, and I didn`t know if you did. ::shrug:: Out of ideas, for now.

You don't need to be playing in compatibility mode but you do need to patch the base game and all expansions, or it might not work with Vista.

Our guides for installing cc are everything there is to getting stuff to show up. If they're not working then you must have missed something. I recommend going back through them carefully:

Also, I noticed that you're running a multilanguage version.. is this something you bought from a store or did you download it? If you downloaded it, from where?

Thank You so much for the patch! (honestly, I really didn't know there was any). I turned off the compatibility mode and now it works!
Thank You.
