Sounds like you've changed a setting on your computer thats made picture viewer the default program to open with. It's a simple fix - right click the file and go 'open with...'. The picture of the HM program should be there. If not, go 'other' or whatever the last option is, and choose it from the 'Program Files' folder.

Have you had an access issue before this?

You could try putting a .package file on your desktop and then try haylz320's method again.

The Helper Monkey also adds "Install to Sims 3", "Install to Hacks" etc options to the right-click menu; you can just use those instead.

You're on Windows, correct?
- after you've downloaded the zip/rar file,
- cut and paste onto your desktop,
- right click and choose "extract here",
- right click the .package file and click "Open with",
- select the "InstallHelper" monkey,
- if it is not listed there, click on the 'Choose Programs' options and you'd need to search for it

You know, you don't *need* the monkey at all, right? If you're getting the files extracted fine, just drag the .package files that were inside it into Program Files > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Mods > Packages. If you don't want to have to go through that path every time, right click on the 'Packages' folder and create a shortcut, then put it on the desktop. That way you can simply drag all the extracted files straight into that folder. There will be other folders in that 'Packages' folder to keep things organised (the Monkey sets those up). You can choose use them, create more to keep it more organised or not use them at all - as long as the .package files are in the 'Packages' folder somewhere, they should work.

You apparently have not bothered to read the Helper Monkey thread. The answer to your problem is already explained there. Please read the thread.

Also, if you need help with Awesomemod specifically (and not just installing content in general) you need to refer back to MATY for support, please. We don't provide support for third party content.

Make sure you are using an account that has admin privileges. Since you're messing with the Program Files (or so it assumes) you need to have those privileges before it will allow you to alter it.
