I've been having trouble with using the repository method for paintings. I scaled down Two Dogs and an Olive, followed the repository technique tutorial found on modthesims to the "T" but still the end same result, the original painting is not able to be selected. Now the repository method following IgnorantBliss's tutorial works perfectly fine for other objects, only not for paintings. What am I possibly doing wrong, and how in the world do you get it to work for paintings? I want the original painting to be able to select in buy mode.

If you are unable to select the mesh, it's not the fault of the repository techniques. And if you screwed up with your linking the worst that will happen is it will be blue.

Without looking at the package it's hard to guess at the issue. But, does the painting show up in the catalog? Can you place the painting? Is it recolorable? Is is not selectable after placed? See? lol Too many questions. Can you be a bit more specific?

FYI: I make a normal object and make sure it behaves in game how I want it to before I take the textures out and link to another object. Saves lots of troubleshooting later on.

The original does appear in the catalog, but you can't place the original. The repositoried painting also appears with recolors of the original, and I can place the repositoried as well, but it doesn't change in size. Hope that clears it up. I already made it normal and then I repositoried it later, and that's when I ran into trouble. I'm just confused because other repositoried things worked perfectly well, but for some reason not paintings.

Have you cloned the original painting for anything else? The only way for the original to not work would be is if you have a corrupt objects package or you have cloned that painting and it has a conflict. Conflict could be due to the internal filename being the same or the GUID being the same.

If you try your repository one in your downloads folder with everything else removed, do you still have the issue? If you take out the repository one does the original work? Did you clone that original painting to pull the mesh? And did you actually create a package and save it? Did you clone that large painting for your repository one? Or another smaller one? When I pull an object for repository I uncheck all boxes in OW so that I get the original filenames, but I save everything to my desktop when I am working on a project.

Ok, just read again. When you place the repositoried one it stays the same size as the original? Sounds like it was cloned from the large one and you didn't change the GUIDs or you didn't import the right mesh or having the same internal file name might also do that.

I will redo it, since I permanently deleted the old file, if it doesn't work I will post the upload in here, and tell you which boxes I ticked in the clone section. Right now I'm working on something else though, I'll pm you when I get that done.
