My sims game crashed and I had to unistall and reinstall it. I'm now trying to replace all my custom content, but when I click on those adorable monkeys to install them I get this message: Could not find a valid directory to install to! What does it mean? All the simpackages (the square ones with the bobble in it) install just fine. How do I fix this problem? Please help! -Kana |

1st issue: How did you uninstall? Did you do the manual steps? EA games has a tendency to do an unclean uninstall which will borked the next reinstall and gameplay. These steps have been repeated numerous times in various threads in this very help forum. 2nd issue: invalid directory Is this when you're installing the monkey or the rar/zip CC files? The invalid error when installing Helper Monkey - go read the instructions again. You having the monkey icons - is this from a previous install or you reinstalled the Monkey again after you've reinstalled the game? Please provide the full filepath of your mods/packages folder and the filepath and contents (right-click and open in notepad) of the resource.cfg file Please provide OS type and game version (you did not mention if you've patched or run a vanilla-based game) |
