Well, from what ive read, Sims 3 is pretty hard to mod in most respects *Insert(Sims Store EA RIP OFF Conspiracy)*

Now looking over what id personally like to accomplish in this game (Theres alot)
But lets start small. This thread is aimed at accomplishing abit more playability, and perhaps gaining information to help obtain new ways to mod the game.

Tragic Clown Idea 1
If you remember the Sims 1, then you might remember the Clown, you place a painting, a npc clown appears, and generally ticks off sims. You had to call the clown catcher to get rid of him, it was very amusing.

So, as a first task, how could we accomplish getting this into the sims 3?

Sims 1 version:

From my understanding:

Some picture of a clown, which spawns a NPC next to the painting when on a lot. Code the NPC to have certain motives, such as watching tv, wanting to talk to sims alot, and crying.

A custom Moodlet would be needed, for when the clown is sad, it should lower the mood of sims around it. As for the option of getting rid of the clown, adding some option to the phonebook to remove him, if he's on the lot would be nice, but if theres no known way, i suppose yo could just add a option to remove him on the painting.

(NOTE, Tragic Clown is actually dead in sims 3, in the graveyard, but his personality, etc is all wrong, and we want something more unique than a poorly made dead sims character by EA)

Picture From Sims 3 EA Version:

So things we would need:
Clown Costume, and makeup (Fuzzy hair too?) **Theres a default on in Sims 3
Some Painting for him to spawn on
Coded in "Moodlet" and actions for the npc to do.

So, to achieve his goal, who wants to help out, (I have no idea how to mod the sims 3, i got involved with Sims 2)

Little additions like this are what makes the Sims fun, if this is a success, maybe more additons in the future.

Perhaps your correct, but from the ability of the Sims 2, it would be relatively easy to do, so perhaps it's easy to do in The Sims 3. Sadly there are one or two set backs, like Sims never use their phones anymore, they use the "instant mobiles".

TBH, considering this appears to be mainly just an idea, with the OP having admitted to not knowing the first thing about modding TS3, this really looks more like a request than anything else - or, rather, one of the "Collaborate with me - I bring the ideas, you bring everything else" psuedo-request type things. If you want to learn now to mod TS3, there are tutorials to get you started, but we don't do requests here.
