Hey,

I've been downloading for a while and i finally decided to make my own account and upload something. I have the basic shell of this house and I need to know if it has any potential. Also, I'm not sure what kind of house it should be. What kind does it look like to you?

Is it too boxy?

It's kind of hard to provide feedback if we're not sure what you're going for. If this is supposed to be an affordable home for large families without a large budget, the structure is fine I guess, but if it's supposed to be more luxurious you might consider adding more detail. It's really hard to tell based on the stage your in of building and the fact that you don't know what you're trying to make.

I agree that it's a bit difficult to provide any feedback since you're not sure what sort of style you're aiming for. But I think that the shape of the house at the moment isn't what you'd expect to see in a real-life home. Have you tried looking at pictures of actual houses for inspiration or ideas?

Try houseplans.com or eplans.com, and look through their plans by architectural style, or do a Google image search to nail down exactly what style you want to build. I always find it easier when I have a clear idea of what I'm working toward.

Of course your house has potential. Why don't you start by trying out each type of window/door you have. If you find a style that appeals, place that style throughout the house. Once you have the windows/doors choose then you can start trying out some different options for exterior wall cover.

The reason I say start with the windows/doors is because they truly set the feel of a house and with the limitless options we now have with wallpaper in TS3 you can always find or create something that enhances your home.

I agree that there is not much to provide feedback on, but I will give it a shot.

Firstly, in my opinion those jutted out bits at the back (and at the front) seem a little stupid, I say combining them both and creating a bigger room all together.

Secondly, (And most importantly) the roof needs a hell of a lot of work. Use different roof styles (and possibly a different roof color, depending on you're intended color scheme), and instead of having the top just a plain square, jut some of the walls out and make it more interesting.

Thirdly, do you have an "aspiration" for this house, I.E. a direction/style that it's going. At the moment, it's definitely too boxy. However a boxy house can be some of the most effective types of houses, depending on how you do the roof, color scheme, landscaping, interior/exterior decor, etc.

Provide some more details, and we may be able to help you more.
