I want to add a patterned background to the cheap bookcase. (The part behind the books) So far, I've managed to get the pattern where I want it. However, it also covers the shelves. I've tried moving the pattern around and the only spot that works is where I've got it now.

I tried to take the above pic at an angle that let's you see the background and shelves. There's a little piece of the pattern on the bookcase, too. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is there a template somewhere? (I did look for one and couldn't find one.) I really want to finish this recolor and do some more- there are some custom shelves that use the textures of this bookcase and any recolors you have for it.

I had a quick look at the cheap bookcase and unfortunately its badly mapped (see the overlapping parts in the picture).

Your only solution would be to clone it and remap those bits

Thanks for looking at it Buggybooz. I kind of figured it was badly mapped. No matter where I moved the patterned part, it just wouldn't work right. It looks like I'll have to stick to solid colors- I know how to recolor and clone..that's it. Messing about with meshes is something I can not do yet.

Thanks again!

That's what I really wanted to do. But, there's a small strip that shows on the side of the bookcase. (You can barely see it in the screenshot.) I could clone the bookcase, but since I don't know how to fix the UV map..well, it looks like I won't be.

Thank You, Buggybooz! Sorry I didn't reply before now. I didn't realize anyone else had posted here. I'll let you know how this works out. Thank you, again.

I don't have any screenshots because I'm still working on this- but I did do one recolor as a test and it recolors beautifully. Thank you again!
