Has anyone else not been able to find any of the new books, recipes, or Martial Arts training equipment? I've been to both the hometown bookstores and each bookstore in the 3 locations and can't find anything. I've been trying to find the Martial arts dummy as well and can't figure out how to buy it. I've been to buy mode, all of the sellers in China and it is no where to be found. Is anyone else having this issue, am I just not getting it, or is my game the problem?

The martial arts dummy is in the general store in China (where you buy your tents and stuff). It's a bit hard to see because it's on a slightly different level to the 3 other stores. Just find the other stores and then look to the right, click the up level button and you should be able to see it. The bookstore in China sells the recipes.

i got 2 new recipes in egypt.....i just left there and wasn't paying attention to where i was at....bought them from a merchant is all i remember

See, I've looked there already, twice actually, and it showed no new recipes at all. I don't get it.

Do you have any mods installed that affect the book sellers like the Super Speedy Skill Books mod? The booksellers in the three locations should only be selling books related to that area, if they're selling the same books you normally get in the home neighborhood then it's probably a mod that's causing the problem.

That's exactly what it was. I could have swore I took out all of the hacks but apparently I was mistaken. I'm good to go now. =] Thanks everyone for your help.
