Yesterday I recieved the error 16 save error, I saved as and no problems arose after that.

However today, I re-entered the game and found my game reverted back to Simla as if my sim was in China, but when it loaded, there was no sim and I was stuck in China in live mode. Upon returning to Riverview, I found my sims' house unchoosable by the family chooser and during edit town. I've taken some screen shots:





Also: The inventory does not have a cell phone, nor any way for my "sim" to get home.




Notice that build mode and buy mode are enabled when I clicked "view town" and the visitable locations do not have icons.




The circled house is my sims' home, the circled family is my sim, so she does exist somewhere. Right then, the game is in "Edit town".

Also to add, I updated to the newest patch released (2.2.28) today before entering the game, however my sim was not left in China when I saved yesterday, she was on her home lot.


And basically my game is unplayable except for CAS. I cannot switch active households or choose new families.

New Note: This keeps getting wierder and weirder. So when the game reverted me to China, I chose the "Return to Game Setup" button. It brought me to the "Choose an active family". I chose a Chinese native home whith one person. This person had the option to "Return Home" on the cell phone even though he lived in China... So I did that, when he returned to Riverview, he was placed at my sim's house, with the moodlet "Mourning Death of Loved One". I can only assume that upon saving, my original sim was killed? Which makes me angry because she almost had max visa for France. But besides that point, I'm still really confused what happened here.

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:

• Sims 3 - WA/patch 1.6 is crashing/not loading/broken/purple
  World Adventures and patch 1.6 are causing some issues - namely lots turning into blue squares and saving triggering an Error 16. If you have some other issue...
  
  Remove all your custom content from Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages.
  Most mods will not yet be compatible with patch 1.6 or WA. Until the creator uploads an updated version, any hacks cannot be used with patch 1.6 or WA.
  

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

Thanks White, but I fixed it with choosing the native and forceablly killing my other sim.. kinda.. I don't know what happened. But my game is fine now.
