Earlier today I was in bodyshop and saw what looked like duplicates of the basegame glasses with the cc star on them, so I kinda deleted one of them and they all got deleted but the regular glasses are still there. I problem is I can't use them anymore, I click it and nothing shows up on the sims face but I still can use recolors of the meshes. I am using Phaenoh's glasses replacement but I have for a long time and it never caused a problem. Today I put in mods to hide the weird glasses like the goggles and maybe that somehow caused it, I've never used those before. I put in the hiders because I got the mod from MATY that allows townies to spawn with glasses and I didn't want them in silly ones if I could avoid it. I know the deletion I did caused the problem but can I fix it without reinstalling my game? I have all the expansion and stuff packs and am running Windows XP. I never had any problem until today when I messed around with something I shouldn't have. I looked and searched all over and couldn't find an answer, surely someone has done something like this? Thank you to anyone who can save me from my own stupidity and help me use the Maxis glasses again.

Did you try re-downloading Phaenoh's glasses to see if that fixes the problem?

If it doesn't, someone else will have to step in here and help. Bodyshop isn't my thing, I rarely use it. However, when I've accidentally deleted things from my downloads, re-downloading whatever it was fixes any problem deleting it caused.

Have you tried quitting and then reloading the game?

Thanks for both suggestions but I've done both and neither worked.

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
  • General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problemwiki FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Contentwiki FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

I have followed that, I tried as much as I could on my own before I asked. I removed my entire downloads folder and still had the problem. I removed my entire EA folder from my documents and restarted the game to create a new one and still have the problem. I removed every bins/skins/catalogue mover I had. My game right now is as custom content and mod free as possible and the glasses are still broken. I'm almost certain I accidently deleted some critical internal file and other than completely reinstalling the game I can't see any other solution unless someone else has an idea. I will hold off on the reinstall for a while and see what you guys think but thank you for trying to help me.

Edit - I thought maybe a picture might help. You see I click a glasses but nothing shows up and in the icon there is nothing.

I managed to fix it by copying some files from my disc, thanks anyway. Feel free to delete this topic.
