Alrighty, I was hoping someone would have a solution (or at least an explanation) for my problem. I only have Sims 2, none of my expansion packs have yet to arrive in the mail, and I'm having two major problems.

I'm trying to build a castle, and right now, I have five floors. Problem number one, I can't get more than five floors. I have tried the dormers trick as well as set HighestAllowedLevel #. I need seven floors and I'm a little worried. I was able to get up to five with the dormers trick but now I'm wondering if there is any way to get to seven.

Furthermore, the roofs for the fifth floor don't show up when I put them on, but do for lower floors. Anyway to go about fixing this?

Thanks so much!

The set highest level requires UNI or NL. This may be preventing the dormers from giving you another level.

From memory, my basegame castle would only go to five floors too. The top floor had to have autoroofing, I think - I know there was some difficulty working out the roof for that level, but I did get one.

Is it possible for you to build basement floors to make up the seven? If you raise the ground level before starting, then flatten it later, your entire building can look taller with the same number of floors. It is possible to build multi-level basements, although it can be difficult to see into them for play purposes.

Chelbe, I just stumbled upon this and thought that it might be worth a try. niol created some empty base-game compatible lots with > 5 levels:

You'd have to start building from scratch with one of these lots, but it should work. If you need a different size or different number of levels, just let me know and I'll create whichever size you need.
