I posted this in discussion because I wasn't sure if it was a glitch or just normal behavior but that thread was locked and I have been told to put it in help so here is my question as I posted in discussion. Any help is appreciated.

My male sim just got married to a female with a toddler and had them move in, they've gone back to his house after the party and both the new wife and her daughter are there now as part of the household but I cannot go into buy mode to get the toddler a bed or a potty chair. I keep getting the message that I cannot enter build/buy mode while a move is in progress but it's been hours now and I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to wait. Is this a glitch? The toddler's needs are starting to get pretty desperate and of course I can cheat her up for now but just how long am I supposed to do this?

Thanks for your help!

Update: Several sim days passed with the poor toddler just sitting on the floor bored with no toys or anything as I was still not able to enter buy mode when it hit me to just restore from a saved version, fortunately not too far back in gameplay. I've merged the households together before getting them married and everything seems to be fine. Delete or lock thread as necessary. Thanks

Darn. Sorry to hear that you had to resort to a back up , but happy to hear that you got the game working again.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.
