I am hoping to rollback my Sims 3 to the version before 1.8 in hopes of it fixing a 'crash to desktop' issue, as I've tried to fix it in every other way. I had a couple questions about this however. 1) How do I prevent my game from trying to patch to 1.8? I assume this is through some kind of tool to prevent Sims 3 from going online - but what files do I need to block? I use COMODO. 2) Will content I have bought through the Sims Store be available to me? 3) Which patch is recommended for me to play on to avoid these crashes? (I currently only have Sims 3 - no expansions, but I plan to get World Adventures soon). Thanks |

Also has anyone heard of a patch in the works that might address this problem? |

Please do not bump your posts. http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?t...lp:TS3_Patching You don't have to patch your game, but it is advised as some hacks require it. Check with your CC makers. Please read the sticky at the top of the forum to learn about the latest patch and the possible problems it can cause. |

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s. |

I actually don't have any custom content installed, all of mine is from the sims store at this time. I had been trying to get some help from there and was advised to come ask here. Also that link STILL doesn't answer my question about how to keep my game from updating itself and how I can still use my Sims 3 store items. |

To keep the game from auto-updating, either bypass the launcher completely when you play or don't select Automatic Updates in the launcher's Game Updates panel. Some store content requires a particular patch minimum. For example, the happy holiday set includes the notice "Please note that you need game update 1.5.0.002000 in order for this content to work." (Just to be clear: that's the patch minimum. The same content will work in 1.7.) However, please be aware that EA is going to assume that everyone is running a fully-patched game and probably won't put that notice on all downloads. I wouldn't recommend purchasing any new sets released after the patch level you select. |

Thanks a bunch. It would be nice if my game would just stop crashing to desktop randomly so I wouldn't have to do this, but I'll hope for a new patch to come out soon! Thanks again! |
