SimsFriend - Secrets of Prototype Sim 3 Revealed? #1 |

So I remembered, spur of the moment, that I had once participated in that lame automated Sim-Pen-Pal Sims 3 Teaser back before The Sims 3 came out and I remembered my SimFriend said something about weather, so I went back through my emails today and found the email I was thinking of. And Voila! Here's a clip from the email I took with Print-Screen: ![]() I chose the bus and this was his reply: ![]() So I was like, hm... Could this possibly have meant to be in the base game? Then I noticed I actually did several of these scenario-based emails with this guy. The next scenario had to do with gardening: ![]() I Chose MondoGrow: ![]() So, as you can see, these things are clearly not in the game. But they must have originally been coded and written into the game in, possibly, the prototype version. I guess they didn't know they were going to remove these features until the Extended Launch date of June 2? Could be, but either way, Gardening is different, and there certainly isn't any weather in the game right now. But we can rest assured weather IS coming, or will be included at some point; it's already in the game. [EDIT:] Notice in the above screen capture, he mentions cat and dog food... INTERESTING! There were some other emails that had to do with the guy travelling to "The Tomb of the Lost Llama" and trying to decide whether to drive and save money, or buy tickets for a Flight (World Adventures, much?) ![]() That was the last one, and I never responding. So he sent an auto reply asking me if I was abducted by aliens... Hm... Interesting. Just some interesting things I thought were worth sharing with all of you! |

I'm pretty sure this is pure silliness and has no meaning. How could it? Sims 3 didn't even exist then. |

Actually it did exist? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they released the simfriend thing and a few others months before the game's release. I remember reading interviews where they said there would be rain in the base game and sims would get a cold and wet moodlet from it. |

:/ Weather? Hail doing actual damage to sims and cars? Bird baths? Cat/Dog food? Public transport? Umbrellas? A working immune system? Generate false hype for a game much? |

Well, they could have added an "... eventually" after all the "there's gonna be weather, pets, public transportation, umbrellas, diseases...". Come to think of it, it would be great to have to wait for a bus to show up to go to destinations. |

I wish there was some Mondo Grow to net me a 20 foot tall Lady Bug in my yard. Now that would be interesting. |

Maybe if you're gullible enough to assume (note: ASSUME, as in, decide that it is true and advertising despite no basis for that) that. Here's a mind blower: The sims also don't speak english! Plus, they don't ask you for advice! How misleading! D:< It was just a little game. |

Save for the fact that those have been featured in the previous games. It's not like they were "advertising" something that would absolutely positively not be included, such as bloody murder or graphic sexual content. So yes, we can assume that weather, diseases and animals would be included. |

I'm not sure how much fun The Sims 3: Infectious Diseases would be for an expac. :S "YOUR SIM CAUGHT MALARIA. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!" |

We already had diseases in TS1 and TS2. I wonder what EA's reason is for not including them in the Sims 3... |

They can get sick and die in TS3 via one of the metals, I can't remember which one - Tibernium, Titanium, Plutonium...??? Can't recall which one but supposedly long exposure to the metal (i.e., carrying it around in your inventory) will poison your sim, causing them to get sick and die. |

To clarify some things, this is one of the Sims 3 Teasers. I got the first email only a week or two before the June 2nd Launch. And since they were supposed to be... Teasers... One would assume they would "tease" you with content from the game. I think it's most likely that the SimFriend teaser was created before the final version of the game was decided. And they just assumed we wouldn't notice. Or, as some said, it could be an "eventually" kind of deal. Either way, I thought these were interesting. Quote:
Notice he talked about taking a vacation... Was that False hype? More like a teaser! *gasp* | |

My husband says its Mummitonium, I know I mispelled it, but I remember him saying the sim got sick after a few days of carrying it around. Not sure if it was smelted or raw, but he says it made the sims sick. I hope this helps. |

Tiberium makes them sick if they carry it around too long. |

Wow, I never knew that collectibles had consequences. That's actually making me want to let my sims run around and pick things up... ![]() Quote:
Is it in the base game? |

Having continued reading the emails I got through this teaser, I'm pretty sure that it's a teaser of The Sims 3 and what it will eventually feature. For instance, the hints at the cat and dog food and weather may have been inserted to simply tease us with new things to be included in the game.. It may not be the most polite way to withhold a game's features from its players, but at least it's clever. |

I can't wait for the Circus! Maybe that'll be included in the Pet's Expansion. Maybe instead of calling it something like The Sims 3: Pets, it'll be like The Sims 3: Animals, or The Sims 3 Wild Animals... Lol I dunno |
