I got this game and it's first EP for xmas this year. I just got around to installing it the other day. Since it was the collectors edition I got some bonus items like 1000 sim points for the store mode and a bonus neighborhood.

I installed the game... It updated itself. All working great, smoothly.... then I went to collect my things from the store. It allowed me to purchase them and execute the download button. The web page said the content had been downloaded. However.... none of what I downloaded appeared in the DL manager/Sims game launcher at all. Nor can I find any such files being downloaded to my computer anywhere.

The launcher seems to be working fine. I can download sims3pack files and load them to the download folder for sims and the launcher detects them right away and will install them perfectly. However..... nowhere to be seen is my new bonus neighborhood or any so called downloaded content from the sims store. When I go back there it will let me redownload it.... only again to not show me any information about the file I am downloading, where it is going to on my PC, (because it apparently isn't going where its supposed to be going).... basically...... it's getting hijacked I guess somewhere between their web site and my PC.

Is there any way I can directly download those files and put them into my game myself?? The web site doesn't give me the option of where to save them and doesn't show me where they are going and I can't find them... not even in temp folders of any kind.

Why the heck aren't they downloading to my launcher and how can I fix it or force them to fix it?

Seriously frustrated here.

Things you can try:
  1. Initiate the download in EADM and cancel and then download via a browser from your download history in your EA Account at thesims3.com site.
  2. Install via the in-game Store button.
  3. What Firewall and Antivirus programs are you using?
  4. Have you allowed the EADM executable in the Firewall?
  5. Have you tried rebooting the machine if that helps?
  6. What privileges does your User Account have on this machine? Are you an Admin? Have you tried right-click and running EADM as Administrator?
  7. What EADM version are you using? to check for EADM version: see post#6 in this thread
  8. Have you tried uninstalling, redownload and reinstall? Seems that certain version of the EADM (v6.0.0.88) is problematic.
    • Manual Uninstall - here
    • Redownload - here (v6.0.0.113)
  9. Files being downloaded are in a cache folder that might be hidden on your system. You need to enable/show Hidden files and folders for your OS. Completed Downloaded files would appear, I guess in the Downloads folder in the Docs/EA/TS3/ path (adapt to whatever OS you have). This EA thread has steps showing how to clear your corrupted downloads cache. (I don't use EADM, so I cannot vouch for the accuracy and validity of these steps in this EA forum page.)

I run Vista Ultimate, I have all files and folders to show and I am the admin of the OS. Those things are not an issue now. I changed the EDAM to run as admin.... no help. Finally I ended up uninstalling the EDAM and specifically started just using the game launcher alone. Now when I go to the web page to download the content..... it tells me I can download again.... I click the link.... again no information as to where those files are supposidly being downloaded..... BUT now.... they show up as being qued for download in the download tab of the Game Launcher. Which is great except there is no way to actually get them to download. I will try reinstalling the EDAM and let you know how that works out. Thanks for the suggestions.
PS. I can see all the cache folders on my PC and they aren't being downloaded to any of them either.

When you say you "go to the web page to download the content." - is that via Launcher directly or a Web browser (IE8, FF)? When you installed EADM, did you also allow Adobe Air to install and update?

If it is queued for download but the download never progress, there is something blocking the process.
You never mentioned what firewall or antivirus programs you have installed?
And you've cleared this download cache folder? Sometimes, if caches are not cleared, the new download process would still remain stuck. Same goes for system's Temp folders on your PC.
