I've created a few custom neighborhoods in the past with no trouble, but I tried one today where the roads do not appear properly. They are disjoint.

This is suppose to have a relatively even grid structure.

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this and if they have a solution.

Interesting. I`ve never seen it before, nor do I have a solution, but I`m curious to know if you have a link for where you downloaded it, or if you made it yourself in Sim City 4.

I made it myself, but all the other customs, I also made. I have tried changing the name and even changing the map. The thing is, all my old maps and all the included neighborhoods still work.

Hokay, now I know enough to ask additional questions.

You didn`t use any diagonal roads, did you? Nor any unusual road types?

No diagonals, streets or one-ways. It was an island and I even tried switching between water edges and land edges of the SC4 map.

Well, that`s about as far as *I* can take you. I hope someone else who knows more sees this.

Can't tell for sure, but it looks like the terrain is being raised very slightly (or the roads lowered very slightly), so that the terrain covers most of the roads.

I believe that HoodReplace can fix this problem for you. Be sure to backup before you do this, since I can't guarantee what will happen. Let me get you a snapshot of the parameters which should fix this problem.

[Update:]

OK, here's what you want to do. Select any neighborhood in the leftmost list (except the one that you want to fix). Select the neighborhood that you want to fix in the rightmost list. Uncheck every checkmark on the right side except for Fix Elevation of Roads (see snapshot). Then, click on the copy button.

It doesn't matter which neighborhood you select as your "From" neighborhood because we are not actually copying anything from that hood. All that we are doing is asking HoodReplace to fix the elevations of all of the roads in your "To" neighborhood.

If the problem is sunken roads, as I suspect, then this should fix the problem. If it doesn't fix the problem, then I'll have to take a look at your neighborhood package to see whether I can determine what's wrong.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet implemented fixing of the bridge elevations. So, if your bridge no longer matches up with your roads, please let me know. Now that I have the road elevation logic working correctly, I may be able to provide a new version of HR which will fix bridge elevations as well.

If you feel uncomfortable downloading or using HoodReplace, I would be willing to make the change for you. Just zip up your neighborhood package and attach it here.

It did not work. I've attached the neighborhood package and the sc4 file. It is a different map than the screenshot but it has the same problem.

Looks like there is something wrong with your SC4 city. When I import it into my SimCity 4 Deluxe, the roads are broken and the city is full of stoplights (see screenshot).

I believe that you are using some sort of custom content in SimCity which looks like roads to you, but isn't considered roads by my CC-free SimCity, or by The Sims 2.

As a test, I tried to put in roads in SimCity 4 where you meant them to go, then created a new TS2 neighborhood using my modified SC4. The roads show up just fine.

Looks like that was the problem. When I disabled the network add-on mod in simcity it worked. Thanks, I didn't even think that would have been the problem.

[update]
Quick elaboration, in case any others have this problem. Network add-on mod (NAM) is pretty common in simcity 4, and if it's causing this problem, it should be dealt with. I was using the June 2009 version, which I had just downloaded. I think previous versions did not cause a problem.
To "disable" the mod, I removed all the components of it from the Plugins folder of my Simcity 4 folder. It worked great after that. Then to use it again in SimCity, just put the mod back in the plugins.

I think that TS2 has very limited knowledge about SC4 roads and bridges... likely just base game Maxis-made stuff and nothing else. I know that it can't handle a lot of the new transportation options included in Rush Hour.
