Have you came across a sim or an entire family, that has something strange upon them? Ever resurrected a sim, only to notice that strange things start to happen after that? Tell us!

I was playing with the Grunt-household at Strangetown yesterday. Ripp resurrected his mother Layla (?) with Genie and now Layla and General Buzz had twins. Both of the kids look strange. I've never seen something like this before, especially when both parents look pretty normal.

I wonder has anyone else seen something like this?

Also there is something else happening, like the day of the week kept changing back to monday even when I had set it with InSim to saturday. There's no problems with other families with these things. I'm starting to think, maybe it's better to feed them all to cowplant.

I have one lot, and it's only one lot in my entire custom 'hood, in which the mail delivery lady is constantly jumping back and re-delivering the mail, 24/7. There's nothing different on the lot, no items that aren't in use in other non-glitchy lots, built the house myself. . .I kind of feel sorry for poor Dagmar Bertino, so every once in a while I have someone go out and have a little chat with her to break up her days.

Lyla and Grunt, like all of the dead and many of the living in Strangetown, are missing several chunks of DNA, so their kids will always be buggy (edit: actually nevermind this part, now that I checked, Tank, Ripp and Buck are missing DNA too). You can manually go in SimPE and fix these DNA blanks to avoid bugs in future children, but in your existent one I don't know how you could fix it.

My most buggy family was a result of too much messing around with the Tombstone of L&D and SimBlender. I couldn't make up my mind whether I wanted a family I spawned with the tomb to be related or not, so I kept cutting and gluing back family ties until I lost track of who remembered who. In the end I killed the mother, summoned a random townie to the lot to put the kids for adoption after her death (no SS hack, so they were just stuck there), and the kids went on with their lives never knowing they were related to each other or that woman. Yet the ghost of the woman knew they were all his children, and kept thinking about them and cursing the random townie.

I've had glitched families/dormies, as has my daughter. 90% of the time, they came about because we were indeed messing with hacks. I think there's a lesson here ...

A group of Uni dormies was among the most irritating. I wanted to try a new skintone, so I use the Christianlov painting and changed them. OK ... no problem.

I then rushed them through college. Let's face it. Uni does have ... well ... slow moments. No problem.

Once they hit Junior year ... problem. Big problem. The game kept crashing. When I moved them out of the dorm and into another building, the game kept crashing. Even if I changed their skintone back, the game kept crashing. I had to get rid of them (and did it stupidly, but that's another topic).

I thought it was a coincidence until the same thing happened with another Sim. In this case, I lucked out because I didn't save for a while, and he had a long way to go before he hit his Junior year. I got him out of the dorms, and moved him into the main neighborhood. He was a dropout, but at least nothing crashed the game. Perhaps I have another hack that just doesn't play nice if you use the painting and rush your kid through college? I don't know, but I darn well didn't do it again!

BTW, we've had glitched kids, but strangely, about 50% of them turned out OK once they became teens. We temporarily aged the children up to teens using Insim (I read that trying to age a toddler immediately to a teen was not a good idea, even if done temporarily, so we took it in steps, allowed some time between ages, and didn't save.) to see if the problem resolved. Granted, some of those teens wouldn't have won any beauty contests, but they looked OK.

The other 50%? Well ... that's what we used that man-eating plant for once they hit Uni.

I'm quite lucky that I've not had many glitches, but I do remember this one. I had made a female YA (named Astrid) in CAS and once she graduated she married her townie boyfriend and they had four kids. One of the kids glitched and I've no idea why. When Astrid gave birth to her, after she'd spun round and I'd named the baby it was floating horizontally at about waist-level - would show pictures but I'm not on my PC - I think moveobjects on and deleting then re-entering the lot solved that problem... but she was doomed.

I sent the daughter off to uni and when I entered her dorm she was invisible. Nothing I tried fixed her so in the end I got annoyed and extracted her appearance with SimPE, killed her off with InSIM and then remade her, using InSIM to sort out her family ties. Obviously it still showed the glitched child in the family tree but I wasn't concerned about that.

I had a sim who grew her own crops, and then sold them in her grocery store. I didn't want townies to come and buy all of the products because i wanted to feed the town with it. I downloaded the visitor controller, set it up. People would come to the lot, but nobody brought anything, they just played water balloon fights. The next time I started up my game, the neighborhood was gone, vanished.

Then in another hood, I had a bug that all service npc's, if married into playable households got a bit strange. The thing was that when I was playing other lots, they would just marche in for a visit, they never rang the doorbell, or had to be greeted, they just walked in and stayed for hours. Specially this one guy Ray, sometimes I had to ask him to leave three times a day. But this bug I didn't mind, Ray was my favorite sim in that hood.

A college sim decided to invite his parents over to college with him to visit, but when they came he had zero relationships with them (no family) except for that he was married to his mom (and the option "Break Up" was available because he had 0/0 relationships.) His sister was okay though. I left and went to the parents' house and they had good relationships with them but they tried to invite him over but he refused. Then I just ended up killing him off. Oh well

My family has this annoying bug.... for what ever reason, they don't act like they are in the right season. It will say summer on the meter, there won't be any snow but then they will all change into winter clothes when the pass through the doors and track snow as they walk. Even though there isn't any. I don't know how to fix it!

I don't know what caused the bug--I am sure the more experienced players have good advice--but OMG THOSE ARE THE SCARIEST KIDS I'VE EVER SEEN!

Don't turn your back on them!

Thanks for the advice! I started to fix strangetown's residents DNA but it's a long and boring operation. Must continue some other time. I used sim surgery to those kids, fixed girl's mouth. Now I just have to make sure, that they don't carry on those genes! :o

Kailacat, that is indeed strange glitch!! Oh dear... married to his mother? Right.
