So as a break from doing my set of separates I decided to work on some content I needed for my ownself, in my own favorite house. This is a house filled with antiques that are in use, and most of the glass is of turn-of-the-century tiffany manufacture. To match this I needed a lot of lamps, so I set to making them. Right now I've only done the chandelier or hanging lamps and just begun the wall lamps. I plan to also do a table lamp. I've used the Papermoon lamp for the mesh for the hanging lamps, and Belle Epoch for the wall lamps (since that's actually supposed to be a tiffany lamp.) I've been trying to decide a lamp for the third set, and that's one of the reasons I decided to ask for some feedback, that and get people's ideas on how the papermoon shades look. Should I try and find a different mesh for the hanging lights? I would like to make them available to people with a game mesh, but if someone can suggest one that looks better (and is mapped to take a more detailed texture -- papermoon just mirrors the texture on both sides, as you can see. Which is why the Belle Epoch lamps look better, IMO.) Anyway, here they are. ![]() (doing this from memory, so I hope they're all correct XD I labeled all the recolors properly so no worries there X3) Shade patterns used are, from right to left, top to bottom: Tulips, Peacock, Dogwood, Trout, Iris, Daffodil, Roses, Peony, Clematis, Scroll Roses, Geranium, Crocus ![]() Woodbine, Garden Peony, Yellow Tulips, Roses, Dragonfly, Bellflower ![]() Tulips, Dogwood, Garden Peony Here are some examples of actual Tiffany Lamps, if you're not familiar. |

I like them alot! And I think using a game object is better- no need to download any extra files. As for the textures- there are a few (with flowers) that look like they might be off a bit. I've never tried to recolor any of the EAxis lamps- if the map/texture is a half circle (or quarter circle even) it should be easy to edit your textures so the halves match up. (Which is probably what you've been doing..) I love Tiffany glass and stained glass so I'll be waiting to see these up!

I wondered how noticeable the seams on the hanging lights were. This was my first go at retexturing an object, and by the time I had finished and tested all the hanging lamps, I had developed a keener eye for noticing the places where the pattens met. Papermoon is a half-ellipse, so it does involve a little deformation of the texture. Belle Epoch's UV map for the shade is actually broken into three gently rounded thirds, which makes it easier to make sure the textures don't get mildly deformed. Since the papermoon set was my first go at texturing objects, I'll probably redo them after I finish the Belle Epoch set, and try to make sure that the side seams are less noticeable (where the patterns meet and make Rorschach flowers). It will give me a chance to redo the borders as well. I painted all the borders to the hanging lamps, but then the UV map didn't work quite the way I thought it did, so that part didn't show. I can redo it with a little effort, and the trim makes them look more finished. Seams on meshes actually aggravate the bejesus out of me XD |

Is it just me, or are they a little blurry? Gorgeous though, Tiffany lamps are beautiful. |
