but they are not showing up. All of the .package files are fine and appear correctly. Sims3package files say they install but not in game.

Base game, no patches, no EP's

Double click single Sims3package and the launcher opens, installer opens, says installed!

or

Place Sims3packages into Download folder (they are still there), open launcher and click download button, select all and install...says they are all already installed but again, not finding them in the catalogs in game.

path - C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads

so..suggestions? In thinking a bit more...could it be a game version issue? and if so, why do the .package files appear but not the Sim3packages?

What game(s) and patches are you running?
Are these Store Items or from Exchange or Sims fansites?

Sometimes, Store stuff throws a hissy fit if there are a mixture of non-Store stuff already in Launcher. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling all the stuff and start with Store Items first. Some items may need to be redownloaded if they are released before Nov/Dec (one of those patches that borked the Launcher).

A quick test - rename the current TS3 folder in Documents to something else, start a new game and quit.
In this newly generated user files, try installing your Sims3Pack again. If it works, one of the folders in the original set may have become corrupted and unreadable for the Launcher to write the content to.
