Okay, I'm a bit confused to which category put this to. I've been experiencing a lot of "This application has crashed. It will now terminate.". It just pops up randomly! I've got two error logs - one from 30th of May and one from today. This is from today (copied the most important info): Call stack: 0x0001:0x00a5f616 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe public: virtual bool __thiscall cTSAppFWCOMDirector::OnStart(class cIGZCOM *)() + 205112 0x0000:0x00000000 . 0x0001:0x00adb980 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe public: virtual bool __thiscall cTSAppFWCOMDirector::OnStart(class cIGZCOM *)() + 713890 0x0001:0x000a3b98 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe GZDllGetGZCOMDirector() + 612841 ... and this is from 30th of May: Call stack: 0x0001:0x00a5f616 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe public: virtual bool __thiscall cTSAppFWCOMDirector::OnStart(class cIGZCOM *)() + 205112 0x0000:0x00000000 . 0x0001:0x00adb980 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe public: virtual bool __thiscall cTSAppFWCOMDirector::OnStart(class cIGZCOM *)() + 713890 0x0001:0x000a3b98 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSBin\Sims2EP5.exe GZDllGetGZCOMDirector() + 612841 I seriously don't know what's up. Oh... I checked my older error logs (from past years) - the same call stacks. |

While technically meeting minimum requirements, your computer is quite old and does not meet realistic recommendations to run later expansions. In particular, you could use a lot more RAM and your graphics are really showing their age. Your crashing is not too surprising. Due to the age and overall weakness of the computer, I would not recommend spending any more on upgrades. Even if you fully maxed out your computer's potential, it would still be far less than ideal and you would spend a lot of money doing so. If you really care about playing this game, you're probably going to need to invest in a stronger computer at some point. You also need to understand that the crashing could mean you are wearing out your current computer faster, especially considering how old it is already. Make sure you keep backups of any important data if you want to keep playing on that machine. In the meantime, we can try updating drivers as yours are very out of date. Install all of these and then restart your computer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6a-9b6652cd92a3 http://angelicvoices.net/WDM_A406.exe http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_197.45_whql.html Here are some other things you can try: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...oard%20Graphics I would do all of that first, as your computer needs it regardless. However, to rule out game specific problems you need to do everything here: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...:Game%20Problem |

I guess you don't know that only one driver fixes the blue screen of death issue - the one that i have - 162.18. My sims have been running perfectly before this. Okay, the processor is a bit... slow, but... till now, everything has been fine. I'll try to play another lot and family. |

I personally known individuals with that exact card and much newer drivers to not have BSOD issues with TS2 games. If your particular computer requires a 3 year old outdated driver to use the card then there's something else going on. |

Yeah, some have BSOD, some don't. With the same card. When I had OFB and the same configuration - I couldn't play for 5 mins. I downloaded these drivers some people suggested and voila! perfect. What now? The call stacks don't point out like - "oh-God-6767590855-your-9568787-computer-is-****ed-867987-up". I'm into problem solving not money spending. My computer is running great. I defragment, fix it all the time and it's working great. No lags, no nothing with settings up high. Except in *ONE SPECIFIC LOT WITH A SPECIFIC SIM IN IT* it crashes. |

You didn't mention in the first post that it only happens with one family, just that its popping up a lot. So is this with one specific family on one lot? And absolutely with no others? Have you tried moving the family out of the house and into another? Do you have any cc in your game? On this lot? Have you tried playing with testingcheatsenabled? What happens if you play without it? And are you playing with the CD in the drive? And exactly which log is this and how did you decide which the important info was? |

One thing I've noticed is that my game somehow doesn't like University. I sent my sim to college for the first time, finished for the first time and then the problems arose. First, I moved the sim back with her parents. NEVER played normally. Crash. Okay, thought maybe the house is glitchy (actually, when thinking about it... no. the house was not glitchy. Ran perfectly till she came back from the freakin college and it was quite huge). Moved in with her husband. Crash. Yes, yes I do, but no new CC when the crashing started (nothing to download much lately ;/ but that's another story). Both lots have CC which I almost always use in every house. I'm not that creative. Nope, never had and never will. I'm really NOT into experimenting with computers. I have a phobia. Yes, I am playing with the CD in the drive. And the log was the Sims 2 Exception Log and I googled "Application has crashed." error and read some threads and the specific info needed was under call stacks. Questions? ![]() Oh and by the way - my graphics drivers are 3 years old right? Isn't Sims 2 Seasons 3 years old too? What's the deal of pointing that out? |
