Okay, first of all, all comments are welcomed.

The point of the challenge is to start out with no home, and to make a living off of inventing.

Rules

1) Make a Young Adult Sim, he must have the Eccentric and Handy Traits. His Lifetime Wish has to be the Monster Creator -Create 3 Monsters.

2) Move him in to any empty lot in any neighborhood.

3) He may not get a CAREER. He must register as a self-employed inventor.

4) Inventing is to be his main source of income.

5) You CANNOT build a house untill you get a Simbot.

6) You must get the oppertunety chain to invent a Simbot. No My Best Friend Reward.

You "Win" when you have a household of 6: 3 Simbots, Your Sim, a Wife, and a child. When you accomplish this, you philisophicaly, "win". The winners get do a little something special with me, and the losers have to drive the goat back to the farm.

Restrictions

No cheating, except once.
The only time you may cheat is BuyDebug to get the Life Fruit. Those things are a pain in the neck to find a seed for. Place a Auto Soil, untill you get 10 Life Fruit, then delete, and disable the cheats.
You may collect gems to get the heart cut. Nothing else.

Hey, that's awesome! I might try that on the side, with a character called Ratchet and his Simbots, Clank, Klunk, and Sigmund... (If you don't know the reference, you don't play video games much. ^_^)

May I suggest something? Your challenge can be a short challenge and you can make a bigger legacy-like challenge, an inventor's legacy where the heirs cannot earn money except by inventing, but you'd have to be lenient to the spares and spouses and let them take careers or make money elsewise so they don't completely go destitute, since inventing is very difficult to make money off of unless you use the consignment store. Also, you didn't say whether the Simbots or spouse(the inventor might be female!) and also if you can adopt your child if you may a gay inventor.

If you do the legacy challenge of this, you can't cheat for life fruits, but if you have World Adventures installed, you can find two places where you can find a life plant, one in Egypt and one in France(but you need the Pangu's Axe from China to get to it unless you cheat).
