I really want to test the tools. What I have now is working and I would like to keep a back up version of my current s3pe, S3OC and s3pi. Is there a way to do that?

Thank you for your time.

Unless you're on the QA versions already, what you have now won't work with Ambitions. How long does it take just to reinstall? Usually takes me about ten seconds.

You could use manual install versions (links remain in closed threads) and simply run the version you want by double clicking on the .exe inside the folder.

That's what I tend to use, so I can carry these programs around on a memory stick.

Oh - having looked again, it seems the TGI block isn't in the outer bit, you have to go into the RCOL chunk and find it in there.

umm say what?
the VPXY's has 2 TGI's 1 in the outer bit to refere to external files
and 1 in the chunkEntries that identifies itself only.

The outer TGIBlock is the bugged entry.

What do you mean by "2 TGIs"? The one I just looked at had 11 TGI blocks. Anyway is this something that has only worried you in this or a recent version? Were you happy with how it was in an earlier version?

Ok please give me the resourcekey of an example of a VPXY you don't think is displaying correctly in the grid. I have even opened some in the editor and they are showing me the same as the grid does.

Inge I don't mean 2 entries , I mean 2 LAbels, 2 areas etc that say TGIBlocks
1 is on the main grid page and the second is under ChunkEntries,

If you select the VPXY and click Grid a window pops up and says :
  • ChunkEntries
  • DataType
  • Resources -----> TGIBlock 0
  • Unused
  • Version

Ok I found a third set of TGIBlocks ( not the data but that many labels that say that)
But am I going crazy or didn't the outermost TGIBlock used to carry the resource list?

Well if it doesn't, it doesn't. The "helper" editor agrees with the grid from what I have tested so far so I am not sure exactly what tool you were referring to by "I have to use the resource editor to view them."

the resource editor is the helper editor.

I need to just find a nice white padded room, I'm tired of dealing with EA

Just wanted to let you know that in mono 2.6.4, S3PE seems to work significantly better than a few months ago (I think I had mono 2.6.1 at that time). I don't know if that's due to changes in mono or in your code, and I haven't tested it very much, but I can open and browse packages now and export and import stuff without any lagging or crashing so far – if this is due to the newer mono, I think you could update your note in the release download post to indicate that OS X users might want to give it another try now.

I need to run it with the Carbon driver (which is the default anyway), otherwise the menus at the top behave very erratic. I haven't updated x11 in a long time though. I used the version from this thread, not the release, and I'm on OS X 10.5.8.

I'm gone for now. Boats > Sims. Thanks for everything – it was a great time!
