The medical career could have been a lot better. I would have liked to see my sims working in the hospital and care for certain patients. But no it's still a rabbithole and they get to perform some stuff at a patients house. All my sim did was write on a paper, where is the fun in that? Then I see you can give out vaccines but why can't I have my own clinic? Like people can come to the clinic and my sim could help them. They missed the boat with that career.... |

Agreed I was about to take up modeling so that people could set up a clinic with realistic equipment but there's still just no need. |

yeah i agree with you, i mean they can like make the hospital stay as a rabbithole but i wish they did make a clinic option like we can now buy small lots then depending on our proffesion we can set it in what type of lot like for medical a clinic stylist a salon etc. |

I've not even played this career yet since having Ambitions but yes I agree it would be very nice to be able to operate your own clinic. |

The fact that the Dr. Sim does not come to the births of others Sim or that your Sim cannot call the Dr. at a birth is a real miss to me... |

I haven't tried the medical career since installing Ambitions. Do you have to option to not do it professions-styled and just do it the old way, or do you have to visit people's houses? |

no, visiting peoples houses is optional, its just checking-up on patients something like that. and its really boring, since they only chat like its a Sunday morning gossip. i also miss getting sick, i mean it happens in sims 2 but i didn't notice it happening in sims 3, i mean if EA is going to make a career expansion pack they should have pimped it more. |

EA has gotten really lazy on animations. I know this isn't unique to Ambitions, but it's a good example. "Talk to Plant" for gardeners looks no different than any other chat animation. It looks unrealistic and stupid when the plant is only a tiny sprout and your sim is fully erect and looking straight on. Same thing with insane sims who "Talk to Self." Either the animation should have been better or the option should have been "Talk to Imaginary Friend." | |

i don't know, i see this but i think about that they didn't have to expand the medical career at all, and they could've just left it as it was like the other careers. i'm pretty sure when there are more ways to die implemented in an expansion pack, they could expand on the doctors options for treating sick sims (as in, sims 2 sick. the real illnesses). i also think that the hospital will stay a rabbit whole unless they made an expansion where the focus was opening it up and running the hospital. but, as that would only implement a new gaming experience in that area (such as, you wouldn't be able to play the new feature unless you were a doctor).. then that would make it unlikely. but with more expansions, there's always a possibility. i like the rabbit hole as it is now- i play in twinbrook, and i'm loving the light blue color. i like the design of the hospital a lot. |

Did you know that from map view, that you can shift+click a location, and spawn a job? That includes a vaccination job. What you can do then, is go to Edit Town and build you a clinic of sorts on a community lot...make it a visitors allowed or park or whatever...and then in game you can start jobs there. I don't recall if testingcheatsenabled true needs to be activated to use the shift+click, but I'm fairly certain it does. |

Are there actual plagues involved? Seems a bit purposeless to have vaccinations without plagues. |

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off. |

I've never tried the medical career in Ambitions yet, but I would agree it should have been more. But I think if they did include your own non-rabbithole clinic, simmers will start complaining that ALL careers should be out of rabbitholes and not just medical. :/ |

I've played a doctor for a few sims weeks and I've seen no plague of any kind. One night, my doctor sim was hanging out at the diner, and a sim also on the lot started to choke. If I remember correctly, a message popped up saying that there might be someone sick around. She had a special interaction on the menu pie to cure that choking sim. After curing, she became friend with that sim and the next day, she could do a follow up with the phone. And that's it. None of the other sims hanging at the diner seemed to catch the "disease", neither that night nor any other day. Other than that, she received opportunities during work shifts to do some missions outside the hospital. Those missions are flagged like architect jobs and the like. She had to attend some seminars in Rabbit Holes (with the usual progress bar), she could give some vaccinations on venue lots and this seems to work like an autograph session for the rock stars. Several sims showed up regularly during a few hours, she could vaccinate them and that's it again. So, nothing tremendous with those new opportunities and no plague whatsoever. Could it be modded, like in an awesome mod for instance? :D |
