I don't mind NPCs in other countries, but I want my home neighbourhood to be purely the sims I've made. I've got the body sliders installed and I want to have sims who have different bodies so I've removed all of the sims who were EA made and put in a whole heap of my own sims. There's enough there to take over NPC duties and then some but EA keeps generating more and more sims to replace the ones I'm killing. It's getting annoying. Is there something I can do to make EA stop generating sims? |

Maybe turning off story progression, until after you've killed the townies and replaced them with your sims. |

Only a core mod can choke all attempts of the game to create new puddings. Although, twallan's StoryProgression chokes most of its attempts as it seems. EAxian StoryProgression will just keep dumping new puddings in your 'hood and there's no way of stopping it without mods. |

You could also use Twallan's Super Computer mod, which allows you to edit NPCs in CAS to look the way you want. |

I was creating a Sims 3 world called Gates Cove (gatescove.weebly.com) which is a selective neighborhood but it does require a core mod to remove all of them but you can keep the majority out. I use the Story Progressionto remove ea creating custom sims but in all games their is a household filled with all the people called Npc Household you can with the progression mod make them active and customize them. They are required and if you remove them the game will just regenerate unless core mod. |

I actually find it quite weird that EA decided to make the Maid, Repairman etc. into NPC's. I mean think about it, in WA the shopkeepers are all random Sim's from the neighbourhood, same with the consignment store in Ambitions., why not just go the whole hog and decide that every single job that would traditionally require an NPC be someone from the neighbourhood. Yes I know that is not going to be a popular idea, but personally I like the "people from the neighbourhood" thing, it makes the town seem a bit more alive. My Sim walked into the consignment store and saw who was working behind the counter, and I was actually sitting there going "ooh ooh, she went to school with *whatever my Sim's name was... it escapes me now* |

Yes, I agree with you although it is a conflict of interest by that I mean in gates coe I want people not to have jobs but I don't want them to become my maid if that makes sense in world adventures its not your own neighbourhood and you sims have very little effect on the world aroun them. The way they implemented it is ok but this is a difficult issue to deal with. Their is a know attachment to your sims and you don't want them to become maids or so you. I think in the futur EA really needs to add way to control story progression. |

What if you do want them them to become maids or pizza delivery boys? With the new open hood system it would make sense to be able to apply for NPCs' jobs. | |
