I've followed all of the steps in the FAQ's and threads, but my game mods don't work in the game.

The resource file is placed in My documents/Ea games/The sims 3/Mods.

The packages are placed in My documents/Ea games/The sims 3/Mods/Packages.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Here are the screenshots;

The files like Hack in the Packages file were created by The Sims I guess, because I didn't put them there.

The files and folders inside "Packages" were definitely not created by the game – you must have put them there.

Can you please copy and paste your "Resource.cfg" file in "Mods" (open it in a text editor, select all, copy) so that we can check what it says there? And please delete the one in "Packages", it's unnecessary and only leads to confusion when you have more than one.

Also, to test your setup, please use *only one* mod – like "No Build Sparkles" by HystericalParoxysm or "No Intro" by Rick. Those are very simple mods that will work in all games, so they're good for testing.

I'm gone for now. Boats > Sims. Thanks for everything – it was a great time!

I downloaded the resources off this site. I believe it was by Delphy or something.
It says;

Priority 501
DirectoryFiles Mods/Files/... autoupdate
Priority 500
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
Priority 499
PackedFile Mods/Test/*.package
Priority -50
PackedFile Mods/Probation/*.package

edit; tested the no intro, doesn't work.

The resource.cfg you should be using is the one from here: Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Fileswiki - the one you're using now doesn't read files in subfolders so anything you have in folders under Mods\Packages definitely won't work.
