OKAY. so. I've been trying to get my sim to live in france. I'm not trying to make france a playable town or anything, i just want to dump my sim into a household in france. And i'm not trying to play the household i want them in either.

But none of the ways i've tried have worked so far. I've tried edit town and marrying them into a family. When They marry a foreign sim, it doesnt give me the option to add them to the unselected household. i was wondering if theres a cheat to override this, or if its just simply impossible.

Well you could clone your sim and make the clone a French resident. Edit the old sim into a new person. Foreign sims apparently still sometimes disappear upon arrival, and I don't know if you can change that.

Yeah, you could move a sim in to a house at France, but there is NO way to play with them. Can't press the "Change Active Household" button-when you do, it says that you could not, because you're on vacation. So i don't see an other way, but marry to a French resident. Not sure if works...

When in the vacation town, go to "Edit town". Take your ready-made sim. Plop them down in the household of your choice. Done!

I did this in Egypt when the people who wanted their basement untrapped seemed to be away on vacation themselves, making it impossible to gain entry to the house.

In Edit Town mode, you'll see the 3 icons for each of the vacation worlds. Pagoda for China, Eiffel Tower for France and the Pyramids for Egypt.

Click on the world you want to edit, then at that point it's just like editing your home world.

And of course you can also select the foreign family with awesomemod.
I often use this when digging black tunnels in China. I dig up the land and make the locals fill the holes in while I continue to dig.
They just luuuuuurve my selfsim in China.

But when you select foreigners, it shows the "_/_ days" as though they were on vacation and not natives. I'm not sure what happens when the vacation times out or if you try to send them home. I've only selected them briefly to cancel actions, edit fugly sims, help my sim in tombs to step on plates when I'm too lazy to push a statue onto it, etc.

Yeah I just make all my holidays 365 days long, and return to the base hood when I want a change of scenery.

There is presently no cheat that enables you to dump your vacationing sim there, because the game expects them to return home, and if you dump your entire fambly there, there is no way to get back.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

It would be possible if you copy the French household to the library, place them in your home neigbourhood, move your sim in with them, copy them back to the library, place them in France.

You need to use a mod that could change their current traits to adapt to current locals. For example, you need to add French Culture for your sims so that they too can be as locals.
My suggestion:
Twallan NRAAS MasterController

Any more question?
