I personally like this game very much. It has great graphics, good storyline, but not much PvP and end content. Well, turbine made an announcement that it's going F2P now, and I like the fact of having a Premium account, BUT... The game's gonna be VERY limited. My sis just got me a seperate account with SoA and MoM (but no SoM), returning as an RK on the Gilrain server, though I have a level 61 Elf lore-master running around Mirkwood. I'm thinking that F2P might probably ruin the great and mature community it has (We'll definently see some whiny kids and newbies from now on!). What are your thoughts and opinions on this? PS: It would be great if you had a few pics of your characters Here's my LM in a skirmish when she was still level 36 |

Nazgul: "I was a king once, mean feared my name. I was a king once, now men call me Ring-wraith, for they no longer remember my name. But... they will. I was a king once, but now I am Nazgul!!!" Siege of Mirkwood Launch Day Video Check it out! :D |

I recently installed this game, and I LOVE it! I'm a huge LOTR fan so this is just the game for me. I'm not very much into PvP either, as I think there's too big of differences between players as some use pay and some not. I prefer doing quests, level and work together in fellowships ^^ My character is a elf hunter.. .. I'll try to take some pics later. |

I play LOTRO, and it's my favorite game. I play on the Brandywine server, and have 5 65's (I should I get a life, eh?). The only problem I've found with F2P is the LOTRO store. I have found it too easy to buy up virtues, stats, etc. and I've dumped a lot of money into it. LOL. My hubby has put me in the doghouse. Sigh. Otherwise...I find the game is essentially unchanged. Hope that helps. Smiv (aka Brandelyn of the Brandywine sever) |

Actually it isn't. The new payment model has been a huge success for Turbine. In October this year the developers announced that the game's revenue doubled since the change to a free to play model supported by microtransactions. In addition over one million new accounts were created in the new model's first month. |

*** Games Journalist with the magazines PC Powerplay and Hyper *** And guys don't say a game is 'addicting'. That is a horrible massacre of the English language. The word is 'addictive'. Thank you. :) |
