I've looked around quite a bit on various sites to see other people having similar problems.

In my case, the problem is the schools are not functional at all. The bus arrives to pick up the kids, but it simply disappears and the kids stay home "skipping school". Sending them manually does nothing.

In edit town, the school lots are designated large park or visitors allowed, depending on the town. The game will not allow the rabbit hole building to be replaced for some reason.

I'll strike out a couple of solutions right off the bat - it's not a cc or mod issue, as it occurs both with mods and after clean install. The latest patches have also not fixed it. I only have the base game and Ambitions installed.

Can you go to school manually? Have you tried replacing the schools?

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

What's with the disagree votes on the last post? Pescado asked questions that had already been answered in the first post, so "Come on man" was totally appropriate!

Actually, the second question wasn't answered in the original post, and if you're asking for help, it's nice to be polite when answering. Rather than a whiny "Come on man!", something like "Thanks for replying, but I have already tried sending them manually, and they won't go. Do you have any other ideas?" is much better. You attract more flies with honey rather than vinegar.

I would also like to know if deleting/replacing the schools helped.

I would like to clear up the little matter of my sanity as it has come into question. I am not in any way, shape, or form, sane. Insane? Hell yes!

People keep calling me 'evil.' I must be doing something right.

As you can read, the second question clearly was answered in the original post.

Anyway, I agree that the "Come on, man" wasn't the best choice of words for the reply.

Ah, okay. I misread that bit. Does the school work in another neighbourhood? If so, it may just be a problem with that save.

Also, have you tried changing the School type from Park to something else?

Used to have the problem, replaced the schools with the one that come in the new town in Ambitions into all other towns and have not had a single problem since. It has to be placed in a different location though as the schools in the first 2 towns have a smaller lot size, so first it is nessesary to make a large enough lot on the map then place the new school on it. Don't forget to remove the original school as well so there isn't 2 on the map.

"The game will not allow the rabbit hole building to be replaced for some reason" for this to be occuring you have an entire additional issue as they can be replaced and have done so myself for this very issue.

If it won't let you pick up the school, try bulldozing it. Or download NRaas' Career Mods and have your Sim do homeschooling or military school. :D

The future is bulletproof,
The aftermath is secondary,
It's time to do it now and do it loud,
Killjoys, make some noise!
