new(ish) PC, got some more expansions as well. have everything working on PC, wanted to transfer neighborhoods from laptop. i was planning on just copying my entire "My Documents/EA/etc." folder to the new PC (except for the downloads folder which i will have to be more careful with).

i have freetime on both computers so will it give me any trouble copying my old neighbohoods to the new computer?

i only ask because when i was installing it kept giving me the screen that stated "back up your old saves cuz they won't work with the new expansion." i was kind of assuming that since i had freetime on both that it doesn't matter, but i'd hate to screw up my game because i made an assumption.

the old neighborhoods in question have the nightlife, university and freetime expansions, the new PC has those plus OFB, pets, & seasons. i haven't touched the neighborhoods i was using on my old system, so i don't have to worry abut losing any new sims or anything.

other than that i just have the nightmare of going through my downloads folder and making sure that everything that isn't a wall or floor is compatible with the new expansions. i already had the walls etc. in a separate subfolder, i'm just going to have to go through all of the other junk.

Saves will always work if you add more EPs - so you can transfer your neighbourhoods et al just fine. However, if you later decided to uninstall some EPs, or if you wanted to transfer the hoods and so on back to the old computer, that wouldn't work - you'd need to install all the other EPs that are installed on the new computer.

Your objects should be fine, it's only items that modify code that you have to worry about when you add expansion packs.
