Nouk is back! I didn't know you had started creating again

The hair is really wicked, I think the mesh would work with non-afro textures too *hint hint*

Question Noukster, if I recolour the original hair, but resize the textures to 512, will they work with this mesh? I've already done recolours and have only just seen the smaller texture version here!

Hiya Nymphy,
Yes the mesh is the same, I just added recolors that have smaller texture sizes. You can just treat them as another set of recolors.
So yours should work too

Can't wait to see them :D

I'm used to doing 1024x1024 textures, so when I went into photoshop to resize the bumpies, I thought I'd try not just reducing the bumpmap texture, but also the regular textures. The difference is so tiny that for this hair I can just use 512x512 textures. For some other hair the difference is too noticable, especially lower poly hair can look blurry with small textures. But this one seems fine.

You can use one of these actions to resize the 1024x1024 textures to 50%.
And the other action pastes, flattens, saves and closes your files. Might come in handy to copy one texture, open a bunch of others you want to replace and just use the batch thingy. The textures need to be the same size though.

the detail and design of the braids are sheer perfection. i love that the scalp between the parts doesn't look bald. you outdid yourself with this one. it's so cool having a mesher of your caliber make items for ethnic sims. you have no idea how much you're appreciated. :lovestruc i'm so happy your back and still making stuffs for sims 2. thank you SO much!

Wow! Just yesterday I thought about doing a Janelle Monáe sim, and today I see this. It'll be perfect for her - was she the one who inspired you? Thank you!

Thanks everyone

And no I don't know Janelle, but I modeled it after Daniela's awesome frohawk except she doesn't do the braids. Daniela is also a sims fan
