Okay, I apologize if this has been asked before... I have searched this site as well as Google and the official forums for an answer to my question and I'm still stumped.

Can someone tell me how to set aging on in my active household, but off in the rest of the neighborhood? I've read things about different mods doing this, but all the info I saw seemed pretty old. This difference in aging from the Sims 2 is really making me NOT enjoy the Sims 3, so any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Easiest is to just turn off story progression in the game's options.

You can't do that. Either the entire town will age, including you're hosehold, or no one will age at all, including you're household. Sorry The only exception to the latter is Ambrosia, which could "stop" aging in the active household.

AwesomeMod has TS2-style aging. Alternatively, you can use this mod, suspend the aging of all sims with it and then re-enable the aging for the active household.

Story progression is unrelated to aging.

Try Twallan's Story Progression mod; you can set it to replicate the style of aging in Sims 2.

I have a different aging question - my first sim has aged to elder hood and i want to revert them so they can enjoy the new expansions like their children and now grandchildren. any suggestions. i have gotten the statue of life and that only keeps them old longer. received that download to late to save them.

It is not possible to age sims down a life stage in Sims 3 without causing horrible glitches, at least as far as I know. There is an option in Awesomemod to edit the sim in CAS, where you can set the age to the previous stage, but it keeps trying to get back to the old one. Sorry.
