Hello MTS

Just wondering here. Did any of you modders take a look at this yet and knows if this is even possible ? I just had a quick look but I'm either absolutely blind or there is no set function for the opening/closing times, which would make me kinda cry.

Just did a quick search through the .xml files and found this:
S3_0333406C_00000000_270C087EF75701F3_Bars%%+_XML.xml

It includes code for the venues, including:
Code:
<Venue>DiveBarSports</Venue>
<PriceMultiplier>1</PriceMultiplier>
<PriceCapMultiplier>4</PriceCapMultiplier>
<HourOpen>11</HourOpen>
<HourClose>3</HourClose>
<HappyHourStart>17</HappyHourStart>
<HappyHourEnd>19</HappyHourEnd>
...
</Venues>

I haven't tried changing it yet, but I assume this could be done as a tuning mod.

If you were asking how to do it in game, I don't know, because I don't own a bar yet (though it's the lifetime wish of one of my sims).

Thanks again!

Would you mind throwing me the instance name of that one ?

You're welcome

When there's a new EP out, I always export the whole GameplayData.package content to be able to easily search things.

Oh well, I'm completely new to that all and decided I would want to start to try to get into it, but I'm really a noob with this all. Thanks alot for finding that one!

Now I only gotta find out how I get that changed XML file to be imported by s3pe.

Ha yep, I followed that guide all around. Although in order to find the XML file you told me I had to extract (the search didn't find it and I would have to search through every single hexthingy) so I found it, edited a bit and now wanted to import it to make it a package. Unfortunaly the guide doesn't say anything about importing XML files

Ah nevermind. When I clicked "Import" it wanted ti import S3_ files, I changed it to All Files and it worked out fine, bar opening times are changed how I wanted it. Thanks alot again

There are already two ready-made tuning mods for this, just to save anyone publishing yet more

I didn't find any, and wouldn't have published mine anyway as the staff of the clubs just no longer appears after I was done. I'm basically just trying to learn more about it all and thought I should start off by doing something I personally like, but I would indeed appericate a link to the already made ones so I can just use one of them.

I've made a mod that changes the bar/club times but it's not public yet. There's also one by Carrigon on sims2workshop's website. Which I see a link for already there. Nevermind. LOL.

Hey,
I uploaded one of these mods on here yesterday. I'm reading in the comments some of the downloaders are having issues with the NPCs leaving the venues at EA's time. I re-re-re(etc)-tested the mod in my game and it still works just fine : clubs close and NPCs leave at my schedules... I only tunned the "Bars" file so I assumed I must have forgotten something and checked the NPCs file, but the bouncer's and mixologists hours where from "0" to "0", so I don't think that's the problem, is it? I checked the "Venues" file as well, but again, nothing wrong with that or even related with the schedules.

Is the problem coming from the file or from the users' games?

Note : It's the first mod I ever uploaded, so yeah I'm pretty new at this and couldn't see anything go wrong with that, uhuh.

When I was making my own mod (similar to yours) I saw a section where it said when the bartenders leave after closing and when they come in before opening. I edited those files so they'd come in earlier and leave later even though the bar was closed. I think it was in the bar xml part near the venues.

LOL I only made it because I wanted to have my own hours since I didn't like the other ones and I was on a mod making spree.

So I don't know if I'll ever upload it though.

I must be blind or something 'cause I really don't see it in the "Bars" file, here's what I can read about a venue (for example the sports bar here) in the original file :

Of course there's a lot of other stuff like drinks, ingredients and socials but nothing about the hours for the NPCs.

But I can see something like what you're talking about in the "Bartending service" but that's the bartenders we call for home parties, isn't it?

And as said before I haven't met the problem in my game.. :/

Nope sorry, it's in my bartending mod.

Quote:
<kChanceNPCImmediatelyGoesHomeAfterVenueCloses value="50">
<!--Range: 0+ Description: Chance that an NPC will choose to immediately go home when the venue closes. Be aware that sims might be pushed to leave multiple times-->
</kChanceNPCImmediatelyGoesHomeAfterVenueCloses>
<kStaggeredExitTimeDelta value="2">
<!--Range: 0+ Description: The time delta, in Sim hours, before closing when NPC Sims will start going home-->
</kStaggeredExitTimeDelta>
<kStaggeredExitTimeInterval value="20">
<!--Range: 0+ Description: The time interval, in Sim minutes, when we will try to send NPC Sims home when close to closing time-->
</kStaggeredExitTimeInterval>
<kStaggeredExitChance value="0.2">
<!--Range: 0+ Description: The chance that an NPC Sim will go home when close to closing time-->
</kStaggeredExitChance>

I believe it applies to the ones in the bars/clubs. It might also apply to ones at home lots as well. It's towards the bottom of the bartending xml.

Closing time I'd assume means when the bar/club closes.

ehm... I have both a club and two dive bars in Twinbrook and they seem to be open 24 hours a day... The bars have happy hour though, but could it be that there are no open/closing times specified in that hood?
If so I would like a mod that gives them the same opening hours as they have in Bridgeport, maybe a bit longer...

I've been playing Buccaneer Bay, and the bars there (including the ones I own) have opening/closing hours, the same as in Bridgeport (I think), determmined by the bar type.

So it's not a hood thing, anyway.

The Sunset Valley bars also have the same opening/closing hours as Bridgeport (without mods).

OK. my head is goin' to explode now. (I'm currently studying how this process works, I don't understand this language, but I want to learn it). How do I change the opening and closing time of the bars at 1.26 patch level with pets installed? what line should I edit?

Can you change opening times for 'hangout' lots with this mod? I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing sims at one of my community lots who have been there for more than five days straight and i end up having to use the reset sim cheat to get rid of them.
