I'm trying to recreate the Outstanding Citizens Warehouse as a bar/criminal hideout, but I'm having trouble recreating the sign on top of the building. I though I could use a fence (the Monorail Fencing) and ConstrainFloorElevation to curve it. I did that, got it to a height I wanted, but as soon as I flatten the floor directly below the sign, the fence drops down to normal height. I can flatten the bottom floor, but only if the roof's floor is there, which means either way, the roof is still raised and ugly. How can I make an arched fence? Pics can be provided, if necessary. |

You will want to create your curve from the top, using wall "helpers" that are not attached to the building. Any tutorials for TS2 will work the same in TS3, and I know there are many out there for curved roofs. Tutorials:Build_Mode_Tutorialswiki Also there is a WIP tutorial for wavy roofs - http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=420037. |

There's a few ways I can do this. First, I can put a wall on the top with a bunch of arches that completely fill up the two squares so it leaves none of the wall itself left. I can then add the Monorail Fencing above it and what I'm hoping to do is have the fence raised into an arch with the wall being flat. If that's not possible, I can use the Gothic Columns. With this, I can make it look more like the actual sign and I can even get the correct number of pillars with good spacing. The only problem is I don't think I could make an arch at the top. Also, I'm not sure if I could make the sign itself. I can make things float to "stick" them to the sign part, but what could I use? I could, I suppose, just use two columns and a wall and say that they replaced the sign, but I don't want to if I don't have to, 'cause there's a crashed car outside that's blocking part of the road and you'd think that they'd first get rid of the car. It's supposed to be a sleazy "bad part of town" bar, but I can't very well get rid of it because it's also blocking a graphical error I can't really get rid of (moveObject'd two columns inside one another to make a big square column, freaks out at the bottom.) I suppose I could replace the car with something else...Or maybe I'm overthinking it? ( | |

And the link you've been given will work for that. Just have a look at it. |
